Favor of the Mighty Discussion

I had Martyr of Sands in my first draft, but I ran into a couple situations where I didn't have the white cards in hand when I had the Martyr so I took it out. Haven't playtested a ton though, so maybe I just got unlucky with it.
Glory-Bound Initiate is definitely a card I looked at, but I wanted as much as possible to cram in stuff that could gain me life BEFORE combat so I had a chance at bringing out Licia and swinging with her in the same turn. So instead I opted for things like Augur Il-Vec and Chaplain's Blessing .
Getting Licia out early AND giving her haste is a tall order, still trying to find the right balance of cards. Besides Swiftfoot Boots and Lightning Greaves I'm currently running Dragon Breath and Haunted Cloak for haste.
Also, I've found Favor of the Mighty to be very sneaky. Definitely has the potential to backfire but I've gotten in with Licia so many times with it.

I'm testing following cards atm:
Others: A second Cavern of Souls for a Human/Angels only deck

Search drops the basic land untapped. This makes it equivalent, unless you have an upkeep trigger that has to be sequenced before it.
If you're looking for fun, on-theme stuff I'd look at Cherished Hatchling and Scout's Warning/Savage Summoning. Enrage alongside flash feels a lot better, and backed by some funstuff like Favor of the Mighty can make for interactive matchups with more depth than pure beatdown.

Just FYI, I found those results by typing "id<=rw o:protection" into Scryfall. That finds cards in your color identity with "protection" somewhere in their text box. Hope it helps (:
Another high-level suggestion: it seems like you're wishing for a way to make each card in your Boros deck completely unstoppable. Unfortunately, the cards in RW are either too CMC-expensive for a normal EDH deck, or you'll end up just running 40 pieces of ramp into mythic Angels (which doesn't seem like what you're going for). Instead of wishing that Boros could win the value-and-card-advantage-and-inevitability war with the other colors (because, as annoying as it is, there are not enough RW cards in the world to do recursion, protection, extra turns, AND winning in the same deck!), just lean into what your Boros deck can do well. That way, you'll benefit from the synergies of Gisela, and you'll also be able to benefit from the social advantage of being the "weakest" deck at the table, a deck that flies under the radar and kills the last man standing who thought you could be ignored.

I'm just about to buy this deck, not changing much. I'll replace Geosurge with Seething Song and since Lightning Bolt , Lightning Helix and Boros Charm are out of my budget, I replaced them with 2 Pyroclasm (to wipe the field if the opponent has an aggro deck, 2 Incinerate and 2 Make a Stand (I'm not too sure about this one actually. Was looking for a good alternative for Boros Charm ). I also added 2 Chained to the Rocks for protection against other big things and 1 Hundred-Handed One because I like the idea of his combo with Palisade Giant and Favor of the Mighty . Can't wait to try it out!

Seems like it will be likely enough to face decks with higher CMC creatures than 6-7CMC, so removal that can kill big things seems like a must - Chained to the Rocks maybe? Seal Away and Journey to Nowhere also come to mind.

I definitely have a hard time getting her out AND protecting her, and Manabarbs will definitely draw some hate but I think it's worth it. As far as lifegain goes W/B is a lot stronger I think, so we gotta use that red for something.
I haven't played my deck in a free for all setting yet, just 1v1's. With the list I'm currently rocking I'm getting her out fairly quickly most of the time, but the real battle is definitely protecting her and finding a way to give her flying/trample/haste.
I also totally want to throw Might Makes Right in but don't know if I have the room.

@hoardofnotions thank you for the help ! I wouldn't cut Kabira Crossroads because it sometimes help with casting Licia, but Scoured Barrens can surely go away. Winding Canyons would have been good if I had kept cards that would give me life during my opponent's turn, but since I was prioritizing casting Licia on my turn, there's not a lot of way to gain life on other players turn... On the other hand Thawing Glaciers is exactly what I need when i don't have my Mardu colors!
Sun Titan is very good, didn't think about it. Even more than just giving me back my life enablers, I can take back cards like Bastion Protector, Favor of the Mighty or Mother of Runes. I will add it asap. And surely,I didn't realize how many Vampires I have cut since the precon deck. I don't really want to take New Blood away, but I may need to...
As for Phyrexian Reclamation, I'm not sure, since there are only 17 creatures in this deck. It surely can bring back sacrificed creatures like Icatian Moneychanger or Martyr of Sands, but other than that, I think I'd prefer a tutor. Demonic Tutor is too pricey for me, but Enlightened Tutor seems to be exactly what I need : Can go search for Sunbeam Spellbomb or Sunspring Expedition for enabling Licia, or for any protection. I'll add it to the deck instead of New Blood
Thanks for the insight!
