It is a fun deck, it struggles against some decks which run Solemnity, which is why I added Aura Shards. There is also a Bruse Tarl deck in my pod that can kill you pretty quickly. Since I am a target due to infect, that deck can deal me enough commander damage to end me.
Also, Blightsteel Colossus ended up being too much of a dead card in preliminary with not enough ways to cheat it out without paying the 12 mana cost. It's much better to have smaller, cheaper evasive infectors and a bunch of ways to pump them with counters + proliferate to pump more and to increment posion counters already on the board.
Example: I get Blighted Agent out turn two after a Sol Ring turn one and and Swiftfoot Boots on turn 2 equipped to the blighted agent. Then with a third all color land turn 3 and Hatred, Give // Take or Citadel Siege in hand, I can kill a player by turn 3 or turn 5/6 which is much better than having BlightSteel in hand and having to wait a bunch of turns to even get it onto the board.

There is always Forced Adaptation, which makes any of your creatures grow each turn. Combo it with Hardened Scales and you passively get huge. Use Managorger Hydra as a bane against your opponent playing spells. That should do the trick.
Alternatively, in white you have access to Citadel Siege.

I have a friend that could stand to play a little more casually actually so I get how you feel. Most/all of his decks have the OP tutors and fast mana, which makes them all feel very samey and boring to play against (though he does do very well in most games because of those cards of course).
Your own build looks solid enough though without being oppressive, and I've learned that's basically the trick to playing slightly less competitive, but not totally casual. Even if you play removal and board wipes, the more you let others play their decks, the more fun everyone gets from the game.
In trying to find space for retribution, I can only think to drop a card that seems weak like Steady Progress or Tezzeret's Gambit as single use proliferate feels 'meh' to me for a +1/+1 counters strategy when you could be resetting evolve triggers. Otherwise you'd have to treat retribution as a repeated removal spell and trade one of your versatile removal effects for it. Mer-Ek Nightblade could be considered in the same manner if you wanted to use it too. But since you're aggro Elite Scaleguard feels like a soft control effect that may be more effective than the Citadel Siege. I', not sure how much you've already tested the build out, so I'm not sure how good or bad some of the cards are.

Buffing up creatures? Sounds like a great game plan. Most +1/+1 counter decks use Winding Constrictor and are thus Golgari/Abzan, but I think a Selesnya deck could still be competitive. Here's a few suggestions:
-Dromoka's Command: It's a card that has multiple uses, fits the colors and the scheme, and provides enchantment removal.
-Lead by Example: An instant which can be used to buff up creatures for both surprise attacks/blocks and in response to direct damage (people will try to remove your centerpieces, so this card is handy)
-Inspiring Call: An instant that provides both protection and card draw. What's not to like?
-Citadel Siege + Durable Handicraft: Both of these enchantments provide more opportunities to put +1/+1 counters on your creatures.
-Ainok Bond-Kin + Cenn's Tactician: These creatures provide LOTS of benefit for having creatures with counters on them.
In addition, when working with +1/+1 counters (I normally use Abzan colors, but still) I like to use Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit, Dragonscale General, Elite Scaleguard, Scute Mob, and Tuskguard Captain. Honored Hierarch is also good at getting mana ramp into bigger and bigger plays.

Here's some ideas.
Replace the Butcher's Cleaver or Slayer's Plate with a Loxodon Warhammer. Same Cost, same equip, same damage bonus, but not having a restriction on the creature type and the additional trample are pretty nice.
I've always felt that Bonds of Faith is better in a 60 card deck than Commander. Too many threats and it suffers from the same problems that all Auras have.
The Citadel Siege feels out of place. I get the point of the two +1/+1 counters each combat, but if the board is empty, it becomes useless.

Maybe swap Sentinel of the Eternal Watch for Citadel Siege? Its cheaper, harder to remove, and has the Khans mode if you have no reason to tap things (I don't think I've ever picked Khans...), but it can't attack or block obviously.

You can go infinite with Sage of Hours in Bant.
Citadel Siege naming Khans. You put the two counters on Sage.
Than Ajani, Mentor of Heroes and +1 all three counters onto Sage.
