Gameplay

If any of my decks are self-explanatory, this is it. Simply play out all your slivers and make them indestructible with your commander, Sliver Hivelord, and overwhelm your opponents for the win! For those less familiar with slivers, each one has a unique ability that it shares with all of its fellow slivers (including opposing slivers in some cases) as long as it's on the battlefield. So you can give all slivers flying with Galerider Sliver, or give all of them lifelink with Syphon Sliver, or make all of them tap for mana with Manaweft Sliver, etc. One of my favorite combinations is giving all slivers first strike (Striking Sliver) or double strike (Fury Sliver) with deathouch (Venom Sliver). Another favorite is having Spiteful Sliver in play and then playing Blasphemous Act, especially when I have Hivelord out and all of my slivers survive the damage! Speaking of surviving damage, the deck seeks to take advantage of your indestructible slivers by playing a higher-than-average amount of boardwipes. In addition to the Blasphemous Act already mentioned, the wipes include Deadly Tempest, Chain Reaction, Vanquish the Horde, Spreading Plague, and more!

Many of the slivers buff each other including Cleaving Sliver, Muscle Sliver, and Megantic Sliver, but the best sliver for buffing is your alternate commander, Sliver Legion, which is basically a copy of Coat of Arms that you can put in your command zone and will only help you (assuming you aren't playing against a sliver deck, of course).

Perhaps the best sliver in the entire deck, though, is Homing Sliver, as it will help you find the best slivers for any situation. Often that will be your alternate commander, but you may want to find Root Sliver against a blue deck, or Harmonic Sliver to remove some pesky artifacts or enchantments, or Constricting Sliver to remove some problematic creatures. Or if all you need to do is get through some blockers for the win, you can find Shadow Sliver or Shifting Sliver.

I am a casual, budget player and my goal is to always keep my commander decks within $100 or close to it. Slivers have some amazing alternate commanders that I left off my list for budget reasons, but if budget isn't a concern I would definitely add Sliver Overlord, and/or Sliver Queen. Any suggestions to improve the deck while still keeping it within budget are appreciated!
