Muldrotha, the Gravetide is the queen of value. Being able to treat the graveyard as an extension of our hand turns self-mill into card draw and allows us to very easily set up combos and create a toolbox of answers to protect them. Early-game, the goal is to set up a self-mill engine with creatures like Hedron Crab or Hermit Druid and, of course, ramp into Muldrotha and/or combo pieces. We can afford to be fairly uninteractive throughout most of the game, since our win will usually come out of nowhere. Focus on using the various reanimator effects to maintain your engine, and once you have access to any combos (see below) in the graveyard, pull them out all at once and finish the game.

Combos

Infinite Mana:

• Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake : Repeatedly flicker Peregrine Drake for , untapping 5 lands each time. Note that Deadeye Navigator can also flicker Muldrotha to allow a second of each permanent type to be recurred each turn.

With Infinite Mana:

• Cast Torment of Hailfire.

• Repeatedly sacrifice Muldrotha to Altar of Dementia and re-cast her to mill out opponents.

Infinite Mill:

• Mirror-Mad Phantasm + Necrotic Ooze : While Mirror-Mad Phantasm is in the graveyard, activate its ability on Necrotic Ooze. This shuffles the card into our library and mills until we find a card called Mirror-Mad Phantasm... which was already in our graveyard. This therefore mills the whole deck. Lazav, the Multifarious + Mirror-Mad Phantasm works similarly.

• Basalt Monolith + Mesmeric Orb : Infinitely tap/untap Basalt Monolith. At each untap, Mesmeric Orb mills us 1. This can be stopped at any time if we don't yet want to mill our entire deck.

With Infinite Mill:

• If Laboratory Maniac is already safely on the field, activate Cephalid Coliseum for a nearly uncounterable draw effect. It's good to have some protection like Sylvan Safekeeper out at this point in case someone attempts to disrupt the combo.

• If you do not yet have Laboratory Maniac out but you do have Muldrotha, the Gravetide, then wait until your next upkeep (consider not activating your infinite mill until your next upkeep, either). After you untap, cast Necromancy at instant speed from your graveyard targeting Laboratory Maniac. Proceed to win at your draw step. Having Cephalid Coliseum out at this point for draw redundancy can be helpful, too.

Infinite Damage:

• Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Walking Ballista : Remove all counters from Walking Ballista (or cast it for zero) to deal damage to opponents, at which point it dies and returns to the battlefield with one counter after Mikaeus, the Unhallowed's undying trigger. Repeat.

Powerful Synergies

• Consecrated Sphinx and Jace's Archivist: Archivist now reads, : discard 7, draw 49.

• World Shaper and Hedron Crab: Mill 3x the number of lands in your graveyard

• Underrealm Lich and Sylvan Library: 3 Underrealm Lich triggers each upkeep, and we don't have to pay any life. Additionally, note that it's impossible to win/lose via self-mill as long as Underrealm Lich is on the battlefield.
