Karn Artifact Beatdown

Artifact-cruiser:

I really love Karn, Silver Golem, and I absolutely love his ability to turn Artifacts into Beat Sticks. I originally had this deck built as a combo deck, but took it apart after repetitive gameplay. I decided it was finally time to rebuild this deck, but I wanted to focus on the ability that drew me to him in the first place. The dream of turning Darksteel Forge, Akroma's Memorial, Spine of Ish Sah, and Forsaken Monument sideways as attackers, is made a reality by Karn (and Karn, the Great Creator).

A Different Way to Play Colorless:

You may be wondering, why are there so many wastes in this deck? Well, if you've ever played Mono-Mud before, then you understand the struggle of card advantage, that comes from not playing colors in Magic. So, to help with this I decided to adopt a Pseudo-Green philosophy when building this deck. By using cards like Solemn Simulacrum, Burnished Hart, Sword of the Animist, Wayfarer's Bauble, Prismatic Vista, and Myriad Landscape, you're thinning the deck of lands and drawing the cards you actually want to see.

Utilizing the Beaters:

The goal of this deck is to beat face with Artifacts turned into Creatures. But the Artifacts themselves need to be worth a damn. So, I focused on three uses from these Artifacts; Card Draw, Ramp, and Protection. I included cards like The Immortal Sun, Alhammarret's Archive, Weatherlight, Sword of Fire and Ice, and Mazemind Tome for card draw. I included cards like Dreamstone Hedron, Hedron Archive, Victory Chimes, Mind Stone, and Mana Vault for nonland ramp. Finally, I Included cards like Darksteel Plate, Lightning Greaves, and Commander's Plate for protection.

Once a Beater Always a Beater:

I included some Artifact Creatures, because it's nice to have a board presence outside of normal Artifacts. So, I included cards like Blightsteel Colossus, Darksteel Colossus, Meteor Golem, Duplicant, Kuldotha Forgemaster, Arcbound Reclaimer, Scarecrone, and Jhoira's Toolbox.

Lastly, this deck wins by smashing your opponents life away with big mana Artifacts. But cards like Ugin, the Spirit Dragon and All Is Dust can tip the board in your favor.
