My favourite option for recursion is Goblin Welder, mostly for the flavour text :) I'm not sure if it's pre-con level though.

Some other decent options are Junk Diver, Scarecrone, Argivian Restoration, Academy Ruins, and Rootwater Diver.

Hey, well done so far. I agree, Szarekh is less good as Commander. Imotekh can be a combo piece for infinite Necrons, that makes it better as Commander.

Szarekh seems good in the 99 though when playing Imotekh as Commander, could put artifacts in your graveyard and if you return an artifact to your hand that you milled it triggers Imotekh. Szarekh flying in combination with Imotekh's menace pump making it 5/6 and playing so many other artifacts it can consistently trigger to create Necrons.

For some cuts to get to 100 cards consider streamline the high CMC cards? The avg. CMC is high at rounded up 3.5, reducing this average can help gameplay. The best here are Wurmcoil Engine, Marionette Master, Bolas's Citadel, Their Name is Death, Noxious Gearhulk. Honestly, you could cut the others, 6 CMC or more, to reduce the mana curve.

Wurmcoil, Marionette, Triplicate Titan and Phyrexian Triniform all combo with Altar + Deathmantle. I don't think you need four huge creatures who do this. Cutting Triniform and Triplicate will not change strategy much as they're the weaknest of the four.

Some cards to consider cutting:

Some improvements within your budget, consider more lower mana cost repeatable ways to trigger Imotekh?

Tortured Existence, if you have two artifact creatures in hand you can alternate discarding and putting into hand each time triggering Imotekh for . Scarecrone can reanimate an artifact creature at instant speed.

Others to consider.

Good luck with your deck.

Some thoughts:

  • You’re currently running 2x each of Inkwell Leviathan and Sharding Sphinx, but you probably just want 4x of the Leviathan, and ditch the Sphinx entirely. The leviathan is just soo much stronger than the Sphinx in every way that I just don’t see the point in running both.

  • the plan of using Riddlesmith and Containment Construct feels super awkward to assemble, and really fragile to disruption. I would have thought just using drawspells like Thought Monitor and Thoughtcast to be much more efficient and resilient, even if they individually can’t dig as deep.

  • something like Scarecrone might be useful for providing additional ways to get your big creatures out.

The idea seems pretty interesting, i’m just worried that the deck currently gets hosed by any kind of board interaction, right up until the point you get your finisher out. I’m not sure if there’s an easy way to solve that problem. Welding Jar should help a ton for at least keeping Master Transmuter alive long enough to do its thing

joshuaschurer if you’re just looking to bring back Scarecrone with Persist, then i’d recommend playing Unearth instead - it’s a mana cheaper, doesn’t weaken your creature, and can be cycled if it’s not needed.

I still don’t think Chainbreaker is worth it from a protection angle. Your deck wants to be killing stuff to profit from Necroskitter and the likes. And its ability is just soo slow. I would suggest running a more aggressive card than this one (i still think Necroskitter will help you out a LOT in the early game)

DreadKhan on EDH Reaper King Changeling

Brago, King Eternal is absolutely hilarious in Reaper King decks, as long as you find blowing up permanents funny. Verging on anti-fun, but I love him with Krenko to churn out goblin tokens (I use less changelings and more ways to find Maskwood Nexus instead in my Reaper King deck).

He's a pain to get out, but if you can get Haakon, Stromgald Scourge out, he lets you recast your changelings, which is both great with Reaper King and with stuff like Scarecrone to draw some cards in a pinch. I find changelings are one of the least bulky tribes, so being able to recast them is usually helpful with Reaper King blowing stuff up.

I switched a Forest for The World Tree, very useful with changelings. I run it with Maskwood, but it's fine without it if you've got +10 changelings to bring out, using it should both put you ahead and put everyone else in the stone age, but it is a bit of an 'all my eggs in one basket' scenario.

Some cards which I think should be cut because I think they are not too great or have fallen out of love with them are: Inkwell Leviathan, Jhoira's Toolbox, Myr Battlesphere, Myr Enforcer, Scarecrone, Willbender, Brittle Effigy, Darksteel Ingot, Dreamstone Hedron, Lux Cannon (unless you have a way of getting counters more quickly), Staff of Nin, Tower of Fortunes, Trading Post, Dismiss, Dissipate, and Dream Fracture.

Ramos, Dragon Engine can be a really fun voltron commander. With Blade of the Bloodchief it grows at a crazy pace by casting small creatures for value and doing sacs. Scarecrone Junk Diver and Myr Retriever work really well here, and in 5c there are a lot of options to tutor equipments to get on Ramos.

And, having the dragon be a big flying beater is pretty good, but it really shines when you have some mana dumps. If you get a 14/14 Ramos, and have a sink to throw that mana into when he inevitably gets removed, you can get you some serious value on the way out. Or you could use something like Omnath, Locus of Mana to save mana. Also, if you run Ramos as equipment heavy voltron strategy, being able to equip at instant speed with something like Leonin Shikari is useful to use the mana when Ramos dies to equip your other creatures.

Just a thought ;) I do love the big mecha-dragon.
