If you're trying to cut cards from the maybeboard, I'd say cut Identity Thief Voidstone Gargoyle Aether Tunnel Aqueous Form and Protective Bubble. The idea with this deck seems like it should be to swarm with tokens. So, you shouldn't need any individual protections or buffs for your creatures.

loricatuslupus on True Strength Lies in Peace (Mono White Lifegain)

So you've chosen mono-white, traditionally seen as a weaker colour in EDH thanks to a lack of ramp and draw. But not does it gain life, and you can work with that! First up, some creatures that care about lifegain (if you're not going full stax you'll need decent bodies to block and close out the game if your win-cons get removed): Ajani's Pridemate; Angel of Vitality; Archangel of Thune; Gideon's Company; Heliod, Sun-Crowned; Serene Steward; Serra Ascendant; Serra Avatar or Twinblade Paladin are all decent at this while Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Sun Titan are staples for a reason. I'm not convinced by the Runes, they're cool but a completely dead draw if your opponents aren't playing that colour. Other options might be Ajani's Welcome, Authority of the Consuls, Blind Obedience, Crackdown; Cradle of Vitality, Dawn of Hope; Path of Bravery; Smothering Tithe and Sunbond. The Reservoir is one of your best ways to win, so being able to search it up with Enlightened Tutor or the more budget Inventors' Fair and Tamiyo's Journal would be good. Other cards that might be good inclusions would be a wrath or two; Tithe/Land Tax; Debt of Loyalty; Lapse of Certainty; Selfless Squire; Rebuff the Wicked; Voidstone Gargoyle; Generous Gift; Emeria Shepherd; Exile and maybe some of the many Ajanis, Elspeths or Gideons. Finally, I reckon that 35 lands may even be a few too many, especially as most of them are basics. Might be worth cutting down to 30 and looking for some utility in cyclers/Emeria, The Sky Ruin/Detection Tower/Evolving Wilds etc. Could probably trade Path of Ancestry away too - it doesn't do much for you but is actually quite valuable!

Caerwyn on Mairsil, The Pretender

There are a couple cards that completely stop opponents from using creature-based activated abilities: Cursed Totem , Damping Matrix , Linvala, Keeper of Silence , and Voidstone Gargoyle

Phyrexian Revoker and Sorcerous Spyglass allow you to stop Mairsil without targeting it, so it bypasses flicker mechanics.

Suppression Field taxes the activated abilities, making them harder to use.

Trickbind is another counter that has the added benefit of Split Second, and could be worth including.

You could use removal with split second to kill Mairsil without it being able to flicker in response: Molten Disaster , Sudden Death , Take Possession , Wipe Away .

Sudden Spoiling neuters Mairsil for the turn.

Howlstone Gargoyle

Artifact Creature - Gargoyle

Flying, Defender

At the beginning of each player's draw step, that player draws an additional card.

Discard your hand: Until end of turn, Howlstone Gargoyle may attack as though it didn't have defender.

4/5

Current thoughts circle around designing gargoyle cards. Cards like Wakestone Gargoyle, Voidstone Gargoyle and Nullstone Gargoyle define their power basically by which material they're made of. So what if there'd be a gargoyle made from a material taken from the Howling Mine? This would be this creature. It's a slightly undercosted flyer with integrated symmetrical value and a seemingly harsh cost to be able to attack. Thoughts?

+1 for Gargoyle Tribal!

Just a thought,

Shrieking Grotesque. Since Darklit Gargoyle has a activated ability that you may use, you could benefit from a little hand disruption, too. If you dipped into Black, that gives you access to Duress, Inquisition of Kozilek and Blackmail as well as Utter End and Terminate. Thoughtseize if your budget allows.

Since you have players revealing their hands, Voidstone Gargoyle to keep certain cards from being used, and maybe Sanctum Gargoyle for all the Artifacts in your deck.

For , I would replace the Warden of the Wall with Darksteel Ingot, and Needle Spires with Shambling Vent. All of the Darksteel in your deck, maybe a Darksteel Gargoyle and some board wipe effects.

For something similar to making your enemies attack each other, cards like Brutal Hordechief (you can activate his ability at any time), Bitter Feud (choose two of your opponents), Mystic Barrier (This card looks weird but can be GREAT), Choice of Damnations (just very fun late game), Porphyry Nodes (punishes aggro), and Sorcerous Spyglass (planeswalkers, commanders, etc.) are all very good.

Also in addition to cards like Gideon's Intervention there is Voidstone Gargoyle - it's good with eminence and some other effects, but Gideon's Intervention is more versatile because of the no-damage clause.

Yes it does, once it's out. Between countering spells with creatures I don't have to cast, cheating them out with the Amulet and hard casting counters in hand, most folks don't get to establish as well as they'd like. The other creatures either reload me or remove non creatures.

The original idea had White for Voidstone Gargoyle and Meddling Mage. 2 colors was easier.

Yeah, its just for fun.
