Heya Fans, and welcome back to our show. After some practice with our potential new hires we come to our first look at what fresh acts we can bring to the audiences.

After much hiring and firing, then rehiring again, and many hours of choreography, I am happy to report we have had decent results. And that I'm convinced there could be physical changes made. If you disagree or think of something better, please share your thoughts in the comments.


End Hostilities - Supreme Verdict : One mana less, and unstoppable.

Fumigate - Cleansing Nova : Having choices is always better.

Disperse - Unsubstantiate : Not quite a counterspell but at least we know what'll be in their hand.

Rewind - Lay Bare : Theme fitting, like cost.

Dragonlord Ojutai - Dream Eater : Smaller beater, better effect.

Overwhelming Denial - Dissipate : Needs more testing to be sold. No big change really.

Angel of Condemnation - Admonition Angel : We lose the reactive ability, but I see this being a useful tool for clearing blockers, and for political plays.

These changes aren't so deck altering as some of the others I am still considering, but I'm still not 100% on them. Need some outside input.

Wandering Eye or Fog Bank - Ingenious Thief : Eye gives away our own information, Fog does nothing against trample. Thief however can be blinked and doesn't pose a large threat stats wise.

Hanna, Ship's Navigator - ???: Closest things I could find that flies is Razor Hippogriff , Sanctum Gargoyle , and Griffin Dreamfinder but that only covers half. Or is this ability really necessary, can we work around our toys being removed and use this spot to fit something new?.

Azorius Keyrune & Ojutai Monument : for lack of a better word they seem 'cute' now. They seemed useful at first because they turned into flying creatures that shared the benefit other flyers do. Better rocks? Keep? Replacements could include Fellwar Stone , Basalt Monolith could be blinked with Brago... unsure what else is good and not overly expensive.

Favorable Winds : Is it really necessary, amid the other +'s it seems the least shiny, even though it's foiled.

Hey, Raff as a commander basicly gives you a Vedalken Orrery for most of your deck if done right. I enjoy building budget EDH decks for myself and my friends so I will gladly give advice.

To start with, it seems that you have listed Padeem, Consul of Innovation into your deck twice. Into that matter, playing that card means you are going into artifacts so i would recommend more of them. Metalwork Colossus is both a budget creature and a little bomb at flash speed. Being able to cast it easily as a 3-5 mana creature at the eot of your opponent basicly giving haste to a 10/10 which includes self recursion. Into that plan Chief Engineer, Filigree Angel, Foundry Inspector, Myr Retriever, Sanctum Gargoyle, Scrap Trawler, Soul of New Phyrexia and Sharding Sphinx would bring a lot of gimmics into the game and Treasure Mage as a handy tutor. This cards ain't too expensive too so they miught come in your budget.

Regarding your mana base, I can't help but wonder why haven't you included Sol Ring. Sure it is around 3,5$ but it is such a good card at any stage of the game I just can't think of a commander which wouldnt want it. I discourage the use of Gold Myr and Silver Myr thou their vulnerability towards removal and instead I would propose the addition of Sky Diamond and either Commander's Sphere or Darksteel Ingot. If it is in your budget, Burnished Hart and Thaumatic Compass  Flip could help a great deal, as well as Esper Panorama or Bant Panorama.

I suggest running Bident of Thassa or Thopter Spy Network as reliable sources of card draw and Thran Temporal Gateway to cheat some big butts into play.

Finally, I would recomend some more answers to problems on the board. Disenchant, Dispatch and Oblation may come in handy, both manawise and $$$.

+1 for Gargoyle Tribal!

Just a thought,

Shrieking Grotesque. Since Darklit Gargoyle has a activated ability that you may use, you could benefit from a little hand disruption, too. If you dipped into Black, that gives you access to Duress, Inquisition of Kozilek and Blackmail as well as Utter End and Terminate. Thoughtseize if your budget allows.

Since you have players revealing their hands, Voidstone Gargoyle to keep certain cards from being used, and maybe Sanctum Gargoyle for all the Artifacts in your deck.

For , I would replace the Warden of the Wall with Darksteel Ingot, and Needle Spires with Shambling Vent. All of the Darksteel in your deck, maybe a Darksteel Gargoyle and some board wipe effects.

Ah, cutting cards is always the hardest part of deckbuilding. Here's my thoughts on what you could/should cut and why:

2x Blackblade Reforged. This card doesn't do much of anything for you. You aren't ramping or running an equipment matters theme so this feels a little forced.
2x Daring Archaeologist. This isn't because I think it's bad, just that I think there's something better - see the second part of this comment.
1x Seal Away. Same as Daring Archaeologist, I just think there's something better. See second part.
1x Mechanized Production. The only realistic target for this is a thopter, which is going to be immediately killed. Not worth running the risk for a potential cool win.
1x Authority of the Consuls. This is more of a sideboard card against aggro maybe. Your deck isn't slow enough to warrant running it 'just to keep you alive'.
1x Invoke the Divine. Again, this kind of card is why you have a sideboard. If your opponent isn't playing high power artifacts or enchantments this is essentially a dead card.
2x Diamond Mare. This doesn't do much for you beyond being an artifact. You're better off churning out thopters so their inherent flying can help close the game out easier.
3x Voltaic Servant. Using him to untap a Traxos is a cute combo, but most of the time he's just going to be untapping a thopter which isn't powerful enough to warrant running.

This would free up 13 slots, which I think should go to -
2x Chief of the Foundry. Buff thopters are good thopters.
2x Tempered Steel. See above.
4x Path to Exile. One big flyer can hose your whole plan - this will help to stem that possibility. This is what I think you should be playing instead of Seal Away. If it's outside your budget, I think you should run 4x Seal Away, or maybe 4x Condemn. Basically 4 low mana removal spells.
2x Sai, Master Thopterist. He's an incredible card and plays into your gameplan beautifully.
3x Sanctum Gargoyle. This is what I think you should replace Daring Archaeologist with. It has one less power and doesn't get bigger when you cast your other spells, but it has flying, triggers Sai, triggers Traxos, triggers Teshar, triggers Thopter Spy Network, counts towards and is affected by Padeem, can be grabbed with and is affected by Antiquities War, can be tapped for Zahid, counts toward Tezzeret, counts toward and can be fetched by Inventor's Fair, is affected by Tempered Steel, and is affected by Chief of the Foundry. Now this may just be my opinion but I'd say that trade is worth it.

I tried to stick to recommending number changes instead of a total overhaul, but there's certainly a dozen or so other cards you could consider for 'upgrades' to the deck that would definitely increase the price but also the power level. All of this is of course just my thoughts on the changes you should start wit. I may have more experience building and playing, but that doesn't make me any more 'right' than you are. Feel free to take all, some, or none of my advice. Whatever you do, good luck and have fun! :)

Egrystal the reason for those two in the main is because they can be fetched with Trinket Mage in the relevant matchups or sacced for cards when they're useless

Origin Spellbomb being edict fodder is a neat idea that I'll look into, but pyrite spellbombs can just be found with trinket mage and ressurected with most of the creatures.

Drafna's Restoration empties my yard, which I don't want to do. Bleak Coven Vampires are only a one-shot effect, and Disciple of the Vault only hits for 1 and on death, while the plan is to drain for 4-6 on the turn it comes down and make it a must-kill threat while incidentally draining with Sanctum Gargoyle or Etherium Sculptor
