Squandered Resources = favorite card of all time (The name, the artwork, the effect and the flavor text...EPIC)

Null Brooch = favorite artifact (I try and squeeze this into so many different strategies. Negate on a stick)

Squee, Goblin Nabob = favorite creature (A constant +1 in your hand is so useful in EDH. Too much value)

Humility = favorite enchantment (creatures are overrated)

Graceful Antelope = favorite planeswalker ;)

Corpse Dance = favorite instant (Buyback breaks a fundamental rule of the game. This is Shallow Grave crossed with Recurring Nightmare. It has multiple applications in EDH)

Yawgmoth's Will = favorite sorcery (the artwork and the effect are legendary. Infact, this should have been the first legendary sorcery)

Deserted Temple + Rishadan Port = favorite lands (so similar and yet so different. Temple is interactive utility while Port is interactive control with great flavor text)

Grindstone = favorite flavor text (Poignant) Honorable mention goes to Unfulfilled Desires

Chaosphere = favorite artwork (this changes constantly but I'm really digging this currently)

Planar Chaos & Urza's Saga = favorite set (too hard to decide so I settled on a tie. Urza's Saga was like an MTG restart. All the cards that didn't make it into A/B/U. Planar Chaos was all the color wheel bending spells that didn't make it into sets from the previous decade. Filled in a lot of unique gaps)

Mirage block & Tempest block = favorite block (IMO this is the quintessential era of MTG. WOTC found their groove with storytelling thru the artwork, the keywords and the juicy flavor text. These 6 sets showcase the best synergies and deck design strategies in MTG history)

That OG Oath of Druids tech.

Echo of Eons? Flashback Timetwister is no joke. Cute alongside Null Brooch. Or too group huggy for the strategy?

evil haha @ 2 Null Brooches. Scepter is about to do serious work in this strategy.

Minor disagreements aside, this looks absolutely brutal. I have no idea which deck from my past I would approach this with.

Overlord Profet, the king of profitable suggestions. Both will find a spot in the deck.

I slowly traded out my Legacy collection into EDH around 2012-2015. I remember picking up Transmute Artifact, Power Artifact, In the Eye of Chaos and Guardian Beast for slightly over $100 :) I also remember selling my extra copy of Gaea's Cradle for $150 :(

You have no way of abusing Monolith. Clean cut. Do it.

July 18, 2024 5:22 p.m.

I think Scepter would add real value your creatureless strategy. You already have 10 strong targets. Deprive still feels out of place.

No More Lies I really like this. Fits 2 mana requirement, is a counterspell and it exiles.

Hindering Light It won't pass your requirements but it is an interesting common.

...which you do haha. Vanishing Verse meet Reflecting Pool good enough for me! but garbage to hootsnag.

Excise the Imperfect? Exile into irrelevant token thanks to Moat. Or a potential beater for you.

July 18, 2024 12:09 a.m.

... And how many multicolored bombs are you going to be missing by the TWO mana EXILE removal spell? Your restrictions, not mine. Think about the threats you see in your meta. I'm confident the majority of them are mono colored.

July 17, 2024 11:43 p.m.

And why is Vanishing Verse "niche"? You are adamant on exile and it fits under Scepter.

July 17, 2024 11:21 p.m.

I suppose? I run Deprive in "lands matter decks" I get your point on tempo but I'm not sure if it's creating enough advantage. That one card could be Isochron Scepter...

Utter End = 4 mana and can't hit lands? Cut.

July 17, 2024 11:19 p.m.

Angel's Grace = epic Scepter target.

Orim's Chant = instant speed Moat. If you want Scepter don't dismiss this just yet.

As for a cut... Is Utter End worth it? I still don't understand Deprive here. I really like the card but you have no way of ramping so it is pure tempo loss.

Vindicate have I been sleeping under a rock. Is this no longer considered powerful?

July 17, 2024 11:02 p.m.

Your blockers = Koskun Falls/Propaganda + all the bounce/counterspell/removal Dimir has access to.

July 17, 2024 10:47 p.m.

hootsnag tap into your inner Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and take a poop on this.

July 17, 2024 10:41 p.m.

For 8 colorless as opposed to 1 and a white... But I get it. Your mana pool is tight.

Big fan of Isochron Scepter. Got my vote. Would Orim's Chant be the wrong direction for this deck?

If you go the Dimir direction please run planeswalkers and more enchantments Undermine and Countersquall! Vile Consumption!

July 17, 2024 10:34 p.m.

Ok, what's the thinking behind Deprive? Big fan of this card but I'm not seeing how it fits into this specific strategy. Lands don't matter and you can't ramp. Do you own Mana Drain? Made for ramping into artifacts.

Energy Field this card is oozing with nostalgia for me but with Rest in Peace cut you have no way of turning off the bad trigger. Perhaps Hall of Heliod's Generosity for easy recursion of it and your other scary stax pieces that will be major targets?

Those two rainbow lands still stand out like a sore thumb. We will agree to disagree on Reflecting Pool. What about Glimmervoid?

Archway of Innovation potential new toy. Turn your stax pieces into mana rocks.

  1. Turn a potential stolen threat into an insta win... Never happened. Cut.

  2. Overcosted and newer versions exist.

  3. It's mono blue. It's a stealing themed deck. It's worth it.

  4. Getting fancy for no good reason. Cut.

  5. Yes, yes I do. Thanks for helping me find cuts!
