Squandered Resources = favorite card of all time (The artwork, the effect and the flavor text...epic)

Cursed Scroll = favorite artifact (I try and squeeze this into so many decks. Doesn't matter if the strategy is aggro or control, repeatable colorless damage is awesome)

Eternal Witness = favorite creature (perfectly balanced and so powerful. The original Snapcaster Mage... and green!)

Humility = favorite enchantment (creatures are overrated)

Final Fortune/Seedtime = favorite instant (strong blue Time Walk in weaker enemy colors that I prefer)

Yawgmoth's Will = favorite sorcery (the artwork and the effect are legendary. Infact, this should have been the first legendary sorcery.)

Deserted Temple + Rishadan Port = favorite lands (so similar and yet so different. Temple is interactive utility while Port is interactive control with great flavor text.)

Grindstone = favorite flavor text (Poignant) Honorable mention goes to Unfulfilled Desires.

Both of those Jace's are a serious downgrade compared to the 4 creatures.

However, Mordenkainen is such a cool card! Reminiscent of your Soldevi Digger. Would be useful in Grixis reanimator alongside Grenzo, Dungeon Warden.

The dog tokens are unique and surprisingly strong.

Slightly tweaked Enter the Infinite is kind of counter productive to the strategy but I think you just win anyway.

I'll have to find and trade for this bulk gem.

Tidespout Tyrant is the original Hullbreaker Horror? It reads cantrip: Boomerang. It hits lands! Still good even by modern day power creep standards. This deck plays like a prowess strategy and they are value engines.

I have no intention of ever hard casting either. They round out the playset of Show and Tell targets after Blightsteel Colossus and before The Temporal Anchor/Shark Typhoon

Jace, Unraveler of Secrets very interesting. Scry draw and counter magic is useful but not as useful as OG Jace. I need to add more planeswalkers for Hurkyl digging. Will definitely consider if I can find 3 more planeswalkers.

Lands are currently in limbo as I shave spells. Everything is even tempo right now. This is a low curve deck with 8 mana rocks. I will at least start testing and will know to add lands at the first sign of trouble (I usually try to run 33 to 35)

November 21, 2022 7:47 p.m.

Portent wow. Own it. Completely overlooked it. The slow cantrip is some neat tech for this list.

Artificer's Assistant you are right. I threw it in for the cheap scrying but Proteus Staff is spicy.

Cryptic Command for obvious reasons I'm avoiding counter magic but this is a powerful swiss army knife. Good eye!

Archmage Ascension seen this in a few of your lists. Your pet card. Hard to argue with instead of drawing a card Demonic Tutor it's just without a proliferate strategy to add counters it's a big requirement to meet.

Ward of Bones this is one of my pet card. Works best in planeswalker/instant/sorcery heavy strategies.

Dispersing Orb You are determined to not play with creatures haha I'm going to seriously consider this if I end up cutting Hullbreaker Horror and Tidespout Tyrant but the cantrip removal they grant is too powerful. Show and Tell fodder in absence of Blightsteel Colossus. Awesome suggestion.

I always use Sunstone to break the color wheel. I will find a spot for Crucible of Worlds

Graven Lore in place of Thassa, God of the Sea

Personal Tutor in place of Spellseeker

Winter's Chill weiiird

Hey hootsnag. Thanks for dropping in.

Haven't played this yet in real life, only spitballing ideas from cards in my collection.

Scry and Buyback were themes that naturally fit Hurkyl ability. I tried to go creatureless but the 2 playsets of creatures you see here really fit the strategy. I'd like to cut it down to just 1 playset. Can you think of any noncreature spells to fill the role?

November 20, 2022 4:12 p.m.

Cavern of Souls solves your countering problem.

Hall of the Bandit Lord haste in white.

Dust Bowl all those basics and Flagstones of Trokair are quality fodder.

November 19, 2022 11:30 p.m.

Myrel is awesome power creep weirdness. Like Grand Abolisher fused with Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin.

Smokestack um...

Omen of the Sun on curve and useful.

Knight-Captain of Eos might be overkill but something to do with all those soldiers.

Field Marshal great lord.

Esper Sentinel quality 1 drop, artifact AND a soldier.

November 19, 2022 10:38 p.m.

Freed from the Real for Arcanis and Psychosis Crawler for the decks main theme.

November 19, 2022 2:04 p.m.

I see you sneak Null Brooch into a lot of strategies. I do too! Especially alongside Ensnaring Bridge. It is a severely underutilized EDH bomb. However, Negate is awesome in every color BUT blue. Kindred Discovery might be useful.

Deserted Temple and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to dump into your activated abilities.

November 18, 2022 7:24 p.m.

Instead of Metalwork Colossus consider slotting in Mycosynth Golem.

November 16, 2022 2:42 p.m.

This set is filled with so many good commanders. I'm slowly making it around to brewing Drafna. Your build is solid! I will definitely be using Access Denied and Spell Swindle in my list. Mirran Spy is some spicy tech.

Arcbound Ravager always good in a deck full of artifacts.

Would Urza's Workshop and the other Urza's lands be useful in this artifact strategy?

Cut 3 islands and add Academy Ruins, Minamo, School at Water's Edge and Otawara, Soaring City.

November 15, 2022 9:56 p.m.

Cool voltron concept.

Riptide Laboratory to properly abuse that Snapcaster Mage.

Capsize would be a great spell in this draw/go strategy. Dust Bowl for similar reasons.

Mystic Speculation fits the top deck Counterbalance strategy.

Urza's Saga to grab that crucial Sensei's Divining Top, Relic of Progenitus removal and two powerful mana rocks.

Sentinel's Eyes cheap and reusable vigilance.

Narset, Parter of Veils round out the playset of powerful planeswalkers.

Pendrell Mists would be a useful stax tax.

November 14, 2022 5:22 p.m.

Wild Research put that in your pipe and smoke it ;)

November 12, 2022 8:33 p.m.

I guess you don't think graveyard removal is as clutch as the targeted removal, I would argue they are one in the same. The graveyard is a dangerous place now with 30 years of new abilities and keywords. I'm not sure off the top of my head if any graveyard type card in particular thwarts Ad Nauseam but threshold, flashback, dredge, retrace, reanimator, Yawgmoth's Will, etc... At least now you would have an opportunity to stifle your opponents.

November 12, 2022 7:31 p.m.

It's an instant, cost 1 and puts your win condition directly into play... What more does it need to do... Give you a handjob? Haha agree to disagree.

Expedition Map Fits under Saga, keeps your CMC low and finds your win condition.

Scavenger Grounds graveyard removal is as clutch as the two Channel lands you added.

Crystal Vein over Temple of the False God or both?

I'm just spitballing. I really like this concept. Keep thinking outside the box.

November 12, 2022 6:09 p.m.

Filler? Crop Rotation is a better tutor than Grim Tutor in this list. The sole purpose of this deck is to find Maze's End. For 1 green mana it's in play ready to go.

Chalice of the Void and Engineered Explosives are the stax/control cards that "fit" your strategy. Cost 0 and answer problems that this fragile glass cannon will encounter.

Pact of Negation is in this list to protect Ad Nauseam. This deck folds to Meddling Mage/Nevermore type effects. This is why I suggested Slaughter Pact. Costs 0 and solves inevitable problems you will encounter. I saw you added the Channel removal lands for this reason.

November 12, 2022 3:32 p.m.

You are right about Tainted Pact being too aggressive in this glass cannon. I will redact and revamp my suggestion to the missing link to this strategy: Crop Rotation!

November 12, 2022 2:36 p.m.

The Modern Horizon 1 life/1 card playset of lands was a really good idea. Your mana base is nice and tight now.

Your rocks are more expendable but that Manabond is very important. Hall of Heliod's Generosity for backup support?

Gonna try and suggest some stax taxes again :)

Engineered Explosives low cost/high value and grants global removal from 1-5.

Chalice of the Void can ruin a lot of strategies while your 0 cost lands deck can play unscathed.

These are less expendable than your rocks and would benefit from Academy Ruins for backup support.

November 12, 2022 2:24 p.m.

Boseiju, Who Endures/Otawara, Soaring City much needed spot removal.

Slaughter Pact is not as clutch as that Pact of Negation but the power creep is real and there are many creatures that can thwart this strategy.

Tainted Pact!

November 12, 2022 1:19 a.m.

hootsnag similar strategies but your win condition is glorious and mine is the same old same old.
