This is a suicide deck. The win condition is to get your life total to 0 or less, and then swap life totals with another player using Repay in Kind, Axis of Mortality, or Magus of the Mirror. Lich, Phyrexian Unlife, and Platinum Angel can keep you alive at 0. Other cards like Glacial Chasm or Angel's Grace will keep you alive in the mean time.

Lich can be combined with Words of Worship or other gain life effects to draw cards.

Since Lich's effect is on damage, any way to prevent damage will prevent you from having to sacrifice any permanents.

Stifle can prevent you from losing the game if Lich leaves the battlefield. Angel's Grace will let you finish your turn if Lich leaves the battlefield, but you will lose to state based effects if nothing else is preventing you from losing.

Typically you want to win the turn you play Lich or soon after, with counterspells in hand.

Ad Nauseam should be played as early as possible at instant speed at your opponent's end step ideally. If Phyrexian Unlife is already in play, you can draw the entire deck and win from there on your upkeep with Axis of Mortality or Magus of the Mirror if they are in play, or with Repay in Kind at sorcery speed.

There are many ways to get your life total to 0 without playing Lich: Ad Nauseam, Hex Parasite, Necropotence, and Toxic Deluge will all do it in one shot, Glacial Chasm and Black Market Connections will eventually get you there.

Near-Death Experience is an alternate win con, as long as you haven't already played Lich.
