Hello, and welcome to my Crosis build. I have a decent sized collection of MTG cards, including a reanimator build I was quite proud of, so the idea was to see how few cards I would have to buy to turn the new Arcane Wizardry deck into a Crosis deck with a semi-viable Reanimator build. It's not going to be winning any tournaments, but I'm hoping it will hold its own at the kitchen table and have a chance in multiplayer games.

I'm running Crosis, the Purger over Nicol Bolas because Crosis is less expensive mana wise, and because I already own a Crosis, meaning I don't have to look around for a cheap copy of Bolas. Not having to pay 3 each turn is incredibly handy, and so is playing him for 2 less. I'm running Crosis over Thraximundar despite Thrax fitting better into my Stax suite - the reason is that the deck doesn't have a heavy sacrifice base. I only have 3 sacrifice engines in the deck, and as such, I'd rather have the hand control, card advantage, and insight Crosis offers. Some players may be opposed to me running Braids, Cabal Minion in the mainboard, in which case I'll swap her for Harvester of Souls. The deck is, at its core, a combo deck that is not reliant on its commander, and thus Crosis becomes the ideal commander. He can reveal the hands of opponents who may threaten you, and even disrupt those hands, making your combos harder to answer, and giving you a plan B should the combo fail.

I'm running a copy of Whispersilk Cloak. Not only is it a good combo piece with Crosis, but it can also protect important creatures in my reanimation stack.

The goal of the deck is to stall my opponents out with control options until I can fill my graveyard with a stax engine and reanimate them. The deck has five parts - mana base to let me play my cards, deck filtration / tutors to allow me to get cards and fill my graveyard, board control to stall my opponents out and disrupt combos that threaten me, graveyard recursion to take advantage of the cards that make their way into the graveyard, and reanimation targets that can allow me to win through board presence.

I'll slowly fix the mana base with duals, shocks, and fetches as time goes on. I may pick up Vampiric Tutor and Imperial Seal later, if I ever have the cash. The draw and control suite could use some minor upgrades as well, but I'm trying to work with what I've got as much as possible.
