Hey,

Ok, lets take this deck for exp(it's the deck you last updated here). From your brief description we know this is a dragon tribal that you intend on winning by turning your beat sticks sideways and saying math is for blockers. You have the deck tagged as casual which means any thing goes really but, as I'm stopping by to help with how to decide on what to cut were saying your going for a 60 card deck. Fist things first we need to ask ours self how am I going to cast my cards, 99.999999% (looking at you dredge players) you need mana to play your cards. Next question does my deck intend on winning my 4 or less? if no then, I'll need north of 20 lands if yes I'll look to south of 20 land. Dragons are tricky to get out +2(lands), am I running more then 1 color yes, how many (+1 each color over the second) +4 and do I need utility lands? no, +0. So, 26 of my 60 card deck will be lands which ones depends on which dargons make the cut. We intend on the deck to be a Tribal deck so personally I like the tribal to be at least 1/3 or how can I call it a tribal deck and I'm intending to smash faces with beat sticks so... Ill need at lest 20. To recap, Dragon tribal deck 26 cards will be land at lest 20 Dragons and 14 other cards. Combat damage (or opponent scooping to sheer terror do to the board state /evil-grin) so, lets make a list of what cards need to hit to make in the deck. Does it help with combat? Does it care bout Dragons? that's the criteria for the deck to make the cut. So something like Atarka, World Render auto include as it checks both boxes but, Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius doesn't check either box so he doesn't make the cut. Something like Crosis, the Purger goes in the maybe board while it hit the I care about combat damage, it doesn't care about dragons but, it is at least a dragon it self. Once you have your 20 beat sticks chosen how can your support cards help? We need to get our game plan on the field now and we have 3 paths to choose from "fair" magic and ramp them out, cheat them into play or control the board. I like to cheat stuff into play but, you seem to have chosen ramp. What ever path you choose b/c you choose look at your core 20 cards can most of them see play b/4 turn 4 or after? If b/4 your 14 support card should be devoted to keeping the core of the deck in play, if the core cards show up after turn 4 then your support cards should be playable early game and make sure you can see mid to late game. Farseek help us get the cord cards out sooner, Sarkhan Unbroken doesn't protect us does ramp but, i would rather see a Scourge of Valkas in its place. By the time we can Sarkhan we want dargons hitting the board instead. To choose what lands we need count up the pips then for what % those pips = they get that many land. for exp (tossing the only 4 copy rule out for this exp) if your deck had 10 Atarka, World Render, 10 Crosis, the Purger and 20 land you have 5 of each basic land of if you had 10 Dragonspeaker Shaman, 10Dromoka, the Eternal and 20 land you would use 10 mountains 5 forest and 5 plains.

Any way hope this helps, GL HF

Welcome to the club, Amazonian_Girl!

My first thought on seeing this deck is that you have too many lands. With half your deck as lands, and no particular land-centric mechanics, this deck is going to mana flood pretty often. I would cut and replace 10-12 lands and see how that feels.

Parnesse, the Subtle Brush's second ability is going almost entirely unused. Cards like Meletis Charlatan and Double Vision can help you distribute spell copies, if you want to got that direction. Parnesse's biggest strength is her ability to direct opponents' attention away from you and towards each other, while giving them the means to fight each other. If you're mostly using your commander for protection, maybe consider a different commander, like Crosis, the Purger.

Akki Battle Squad is also pretty soft, with fewer than ten equipments, auras, and ways to grant counters.

Because of the symbol in the text box, Coastline Chimera can't be used with this commander. Color identity for Commander looks at all mana symbols in the casting cost and text box.

I see a couple of subthemes of Vampires/Blood tokens and sacrifice effects. If you enjoy those, try leaning harder into them.

Expanding on that, my biggest suggestion for this deck is to pick a theme and focus hard on it. Do you want to create and direct conflict between your opponents while keeping yourself safe? Do you want to sacrifice your own creatures and resources for bigger and better things? Do you want to go in with a crafty, manipulative Vampire army? All of these are viable strategies. If you want to, it's even possible to make a usable art/painting theme deck. Pick a central concept and look for cards that support, supplement, or reinforce that concept.

Building from a smaller collection can be tough. The trick is to find card synergies and effects that work well together, and get as much mileage as you can out of those. The Commander preconstructed decks, while fairly weak, usually have a good number of general-use "staple" cards like Sol Ring that can help any deck in the right colors.

Above all, have fun!

In terms of EDH, Sen Triplets seems good. Esper has a lot of options for turning yourself into the archenemy without even using the Triplets which also make everyone hate your deck. Other mean EDH decks I have experience are helmed by Crosis, the Purger, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant (rated #1 for least fun among my play group), and Ephara, God of the Polis. Hope this helps. I have decks for all of these and will link them below.

Appreciate it! PREMODERN is simply a deck with the restriction of ONLY using cards available prior to 8th Edition (old bordered cards).

I've been on a mission to build a premodern EDH deck for a while now. I always love trying to make things I haven't seen done before. I wanted to make an Invasion Legendary Dragon deck but just couldn't choose between Rith, the Awakener (the best), Crosis, the Purger, or Darigaaz, the Igniter (best art IMO). So what went from a Saproling Tribal, to a Reanimator, to a Dragonstorm deck, is now a reanimator deck with ALL of the Invasion dragons; Karona, False God leading the charge.

I've got it to 124 but could really use some help tuning/chopping it a bit more. Any and all help would be appreciated. Spiritmonger is the only card I can see that is pretty out of place, but he's the only pet card from my childhood I can think of that isn't in a deck I own so I think he'll stay!

I fully acknowledge this deck will probably be a train wreck. Every other deck I have is pretty highly tuned, to the point I don't have any options for playing new players or underpowered decks. I'd like this to be that deck.

I've got a few decks that may be of interest. Seek and Destroy is a Dragon Tribal deck that wants to try and cheat Drgons in with the Commander's attack trigger. FUS RO DAH across the multiverse is, admittedly, more of a dice rolling deck, rather than a purely Dragon Tribal deck, but I'd still say it counts, since it wants to play a ton of dragons to hit face with. Or pull off an infinite combo and deal infinite damage to all opponents. U.S.A.F. is half Dragon Tribal, half Angel Tribal (you can ignore the Iona, Shield of Emeria. My playgroup lets me play her, but she is technically banned in commander). It still has a bunch of the tribal staples, though, and is one of my favorite decks to play. Just a bunch of Angels and Dragons, hitting people for a bunch. Armata Strigoi, Werewolves of ArmeNaya, Night of the Werewolves, In a Skyforged Dream and Killing Ground are all tribal decks, but not Dragon Tribal. They are Vampires, Werewolves, Werewolves, Angels and Knights, respectively.

As for the three you added, assuming that they are Crosis, the Purger, Dragonlord Dromoka and Darigaaz Reincarnated, you could run all 3 of them. I personally wouldn't run Darigaaz (unless he was the commander), but if you are in a removal-heavy playgroup, or you just really like that ability, go for it. I can give advice, but the choice (and deck) is ultimately yours. For cuts, I'd recommend replacing Enduring Scalelord with Dragonlord Dromoka.

As for the help, you are welcome! I hope what I say is helpful.

Blink spells, I'm not sure if you need them. Your commander triggers on ETB, but only if cast. I guess you have the AFR dragons, but I would not recommend running something just for them.

I'm still not sure what kind of value you are getting from Niv-Mizzet Reborn. By my count (before making any cuts or changes) you have 8 cards that you could find with him, as Dragonlord Silumgar goes into your hand. Yes, it is 5 counters on Ramos, but I don't think it's worth it just for that.

Crosis, the Purger seems decent. If you want to run him, no one is going to think twice, but I personally don't really like discard effects. I'll leave it up to you. Dragonlord Dromoka. Yes. I hate counterspells, and a deck that wants to drop dragons is really prone to them. Darigaaz Reincarnated is a maybe. I do like the fact that he is hard to take out, but he's just a 7/7 body, in this deck.

ok, thanks. for the help some of the cards you mentioned in my deck like Blackblade Reforged. but one card like Backdraft Hellkite it helps me get some more instance if i need any. My pet card is Ramos, Dragon Engine.

so here is how my deck works i get Tiamat out right look for 5 dragon cards the cards i look for are Ramos, Dragon Engine, Niv-Mizzet Reborn, Terror of the Peaks, Dragonlord Silumgar, and Atarka, World Render. Then put Terror of the Peaks first then atarke, then ramos then niv-mizzet. then the dragon lord. then just obliterate my opponent because they have no chance if i get all of them out and survive when tiamat comes out so yea.

and really quick what is you opinion about blink cards if you think that might help, what kind of blink cards would you prefer? speaking of cards-sorry for the long message- what is your opinion about Crosis, the Purger, Dragonlord Dromoka, and Darigaaz Reincarnated?

and what are some more instant or Sorcery spells i should put in?
