Arcana II

On the outskirts of the city was another prominent building that looked to be a church ornately decorated with multi-colored stained glass windows.

As the two approached, they found themselves at the gates of a sprawling compound of impassable walls.

Standing guard at the entrance to the labyrinth was an imposing knight joined by a woman dressed in holy vestiges.

The paladin stood silent as the priestess greeted the duo.

She would inform them in a stern manner that the lady of the church was absent, and that the maze was unfathomably complex and rife with restless spirits.

It would be unthinkable to attempt to make their way inside according to the warden.

Instead she offered to have her sisters escort them directly to the palace within the city to seek audience with the queen.

The man agreed to follow them despite his companion's reluctance.

Once they reached the outside of the palace, it became apparent that something was off about this place they'd been led to by the beguiling maidens.

The grounds were in complete disarray and the structure itself looked worn and damaged.
