Halloween Special

Lyzolda, Teysa, and Niv Mizzet have always fascinated me more than any other guild representatives in my history of playing magic. This is a long overdue build that deserves to have her place on my page. While this deck is not, and will not be constructed any time soon - I find it important to have a list reference for when I decide to put it together.

I have taken some time to look back on decks I enjoy playing and building - and I've seen a theme that shows me that I really enjoy sacrificing creatures/permanents and gaining incremental value from them. I think it stems from my affinity for Legacy as a format and control mirror matches, where each little decision continues to propel you forward and finally sets you into a place where you're super ahead. In EDH, gaining little advantages while maintaining a board presence with less powerful cards is a recipe for staying alive and not putting a target on your head. You also get access to the political excuse that "I can't answer that because I'm not playing white, blue or green..."

Overall, because my Breya (fav deck) is a token deck that also relies on sacrificing, killing with vicious shadows, purphoros, and other go wide/sacrifice strategies... My Edgar Markov plays the same colors and happens to play small creatures that create tokens to then pump/sacrifice for more value than their mana cost, and Ghave and Teysa are both better at accelerating faster and comboing out, Lyzolda just isn't getting her chance as a great sacrifice creatures commander. However, if you're on a budget or want to play something nobody else in your playgroup or area is playing - this is a great option!
