I used to play a somewhat competitive combo version of Breya, Etherium Shaper but I decided to try something different to combat the combo strategies that were cropping up all around me, including other Breya players. This is what I came up with.

This will be a "budget" version. And by that I mean I do not already own a set of the ABUR duals and at this point trying to pick up a Mishra's Workshop feels like a waste of money. I fully intend to acquire a Mox Diamond as my next purchase and a Lion's Eye Diamond following that.

Admittedly, "Stax" was the idea but the card that gives it the namesake is just not good enough for my meta. Smokestack is just too slow. That being said, the overall strategy is a land deprivation one with multiple tax effects. An ideal situation is landing one of several Armageddon effects and following that with a Ward of Bones to lock out the game and do what I wish with Breya and friends.

Win conditions are simple:

1. Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry + Time Sieve. Pretty self explanatory.

2. Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas going to his -4 ability enough times to kill the board once I have it locked down with Ward of Bones .

3. Not technically a win condition but the board clearing Mycosynth Lattice + Vandalblast or the similar Darksteel Forge + Nevinyrral's Disk + Mycosynth Lattice and you can add in Unwinding Clock for good measure. I count these as win conditions because my opponents usually scoop. In the event they don't scoop, the deck is so far ahead you win anyway.
