Greetings friend, we've got a fine start here, I have some inputs but I'm not an equipment expert.
There are some cards that you can't legally run in this deck: Judge's Familiar, Vault of the Archangel and Age-Graced Chapel Flip. In commander there's a thing called "Color identity", that is, cards in your deck can't have colors or mana symbols that are not on your commander.
You'd like to up the land count do 36, maybe 37; try and shove in more or less, 10 cards each that ramp mana, remove problematic stuff from your opponnents, and draw you cards.
Ramp suggestions: Sol Ring, Sword of the Animist, Gold Myr, Jhoira's Familiar.
Draw: Rogue's Gloves, Mask of Memory.
Removal: Generous Gift, Argentum Armor.
Cut cards that don't escalate very well in multiplayer. Champion of the Parish for example may be a beast in a 60-card, 4-copies each deck, but here he would be just a body.
I hope this helps for now, good luck adjusting the deck and have fun!!

I tend to think of my decks in sets of 14, and I have a friend who thinks in sets of 10
7 x 14 = 98 so if I want to help guarantee I get something in my opening hand (ramp, card draw, removal) then I should be running at least 14 of that type of card. Then there will likely only be one more in the next seven cards. With less than 14 equipments you may never even see one the whole game in some cases
My fiend figures you'll have at least 3 draws in a normal game before things get wild and if you're running 10 of a specific theme you should see one in the first three turns.
Food for thought

Very old school magic feel too with the simpler card effects. But access to Counterspell, Lightning Bolt and friggin Dark Ritual! Lmao. Also I shall take your suggestion for more interaction into consideration! Thanks!

You get triggers for all the tokens. "Leaves the battlefield" triggers (including "dies" triggers) use information from the last moment something was still on the battlefield to determine their results. In your example, Zurgo was on the battlefield at the last moment the tokens were still there, so that means Zurgo's ability will trigger for all of them leaving.

I think it depends on what gear you're planning to equip, if your equip costs are generally insignificant then you can just pay them and save the card slots, but if you run stuff that's more than 2 mana to equip (or has a more exotic equip cost) you might enjoy stuff like Ardenn. I think my deck has 10 equipment and 3 free equip sources, though each of those equipment synergy cards does other useful stuff. I think if you ignore the big hammer my deck has 9 equipment averaging to 2 mana to equip. As for how useful they prove, I have found that free equip costs can be incredibly swingy, letting you do stuff a turn or more early can be huge. If you draw multiples of the effect and have no equipment it can suck, so I'm sure with 3 synergy pieces I could benefit from more than 10 equipment.

I'm throwing together a Shinra-themed deck with Elena, Turk Recruit and Reno and Rude as rule-0 partners. Here's the prototype decklist (I doubt the details are particularly important for this discussion per se): Shinra Conflict Resolution
As a way to help the commanders do anything, and to trigger Elena's historic-matters ability, I'm thinking of adding a good amount of equipment. Not enough to make it like a full-on equipment deck, nor to make the deck a Voltron deck.
That said, I wanna check everyone's gut:
How many equipment would you run before cards that free-equip, like Sigarda's Aid, Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist, Forge Anew, Bruenor Battlehammer, etc seem like good inclusions?
Conventional wisdom for Equipment decks seems like 18-25 equipments makes it a true Equipment deck.
Would running, say... twelve Equipments warrant free equipers? Ten? Fourteen? Sixteen? Nine?
I know it depends on the equip-cost of all the equipment and the curve and all that. I'm just testing the waters as to where y'all would draw the line if you had to throw out a number.
Thanks!

As Rhadamanthus explained, one damage event won't make this work. What you could use is something like Toralf, God of Fury Flip or Boros Reckoner, both of which are triggered abilities, to create multiple damage instances so the damage will be multiplied each time. For example, if you have Furnace of Rath in play and target Boros Reckoner with Shock, the damage dealt to your Reckoner will be doubled from 2 to 4, then its ability will trigger and deal 4 damage to any target, which will be doubled again to 8.

Sorry to spam your page, but just to clarify, all of the aforementioned pump spells only synergize with creatures that have infect. For creatures sporting the neutered Toxic mechanic, i'd highly recommend going the +1/+1 route primarily as it does help both creatures with Toxic and Infect - but splash in some of the really good explosive stuff like Hatred. You can literally hate out an opponent at random. Not to mention it has great synergy with Atraxa as she just gains you all that life back after spending it. No infect? No problem.
Alternatively, if you wanted to go some completely out of left field route, there is a creature in Edge of Eternities that does give all Artifact creatures you control Toxic 2 (technically). BUT this is a leak - so I can't link it or really discuss it at length. The leak does have some credibility is because on Mark Rosewater's Teaser for the set he does say under the "Things to Expect" section "poison card". So if you really desired it, you could go with an Artifact focused poison deck with an equipment like Grafted Exoskeleton.

It's about as fun as having a 'kick each other in the nuts' competition for game night, but I feel like this Commander would benefit from some stuff like Merciless Executioner, Plaguecrafter, and Accursed Marauder. The idea is you just play one of the many variants on the theme (there are many more), sacrificing itself each time, and then get it back to play again next turn. I had to limit myself in my Meren list to only 3 of them (and no Grave Pact enchantments), but depending on your play group it could be a significant inclusion.

Renegade Druid
Creature - Human Druid
Whenever Renegade Druid becomes the target of an Aura spell, draw a card.
Whenever you or a permanent you control become the target of an Aura, Renegade Druid deals damage equal to the number of Auras on the battlefield to target creature or planeswalker.
3/2
Fugitive Druid got away from Volrath, ran into Lynde and Eriette somewhere, and discovered the glory of Uril. Still on the run.
Take two common cards from your favorite set/plane/block and combine them somehow. Try to avoid just adding the text and cost of a sorcery onto a creature or whatever--the inspiration is more important than a strict 1:1 fusion.

I do have some ideas in mind when it comes to closing out a game with Poison counters. But you don't have to make it through a couple times - all it takes is once and it's the beginning of the end. Some traditional combo pieces would be:
And other spells of that ilk. Another synergy are +1/+1 counters. Forgotten Ancient, Hardened Scales, Branching Evolution, Ozolith, the Shattered Spire and The Ozolith are real powerhouses if you wish to go that route. This synergy does telegraph your moves more and you'd be less explosive.
But what to do when the table goes against you? I recommend stax. Tying up the resources of the table, forcing slower and less impactful turns on your opponents while the clock continues ticking. Cards like Astral Cornucopia and Everflowing Chalice help break parity as you will likely have access to more mana than your opponents while they're being held back. Some oldies but goldies would be:
- Winter Orb
- Static Orb
- Ensnaring Bridge (This has good synergy well with the aforementioned pump spells as you can still attack with low power infect creatures)
- Tangle Wire (A personal Fave as you can proliferate these counters)
- Parallax Wave (A personal Fave as you can proliferate these counters)
- Parallax Tide (A personal Fave as you can proliferate these counters)
Playing pretty much any of these cards will likely earn you some ire - but the idea is to only play these when you have poison counters on your opponents and you can reliably proliferate them at least once or twice a turn. The idea is that you've already got your opponents where you want them, all you'd need to do is simply wait while the Poison counters end them.

41 lands is way too many. You probably don't need 2 of every basic land type but I would recommend some instants. Even just a Teferi's Protection or a Counterspell to keep your board state around for a turn cycle could do wonders for a deck like this.

You could try the old deck thinning Flagstones of Trokair trick. Drop 4x Plains and run the full playset, grabbing the Plains you need (works on Snow-Covered Plains too) and increasing the odds of drawing into something better next. It’s kind of pricey, and that’s all it accomplishes, but it’s one of those little adjustments that can increase performance.

that being said I think Words of Worship, Honor the Fallen, Y'shtola Rhul, Ruin Crab, Swiftfoot Boots could be cut in favor of some more raw lifegain. You already have a ton of protection and counters so I'm not worries about losing boots. I would consider cards like Drogskol Reaver, Rhox Faithmender, Suture Priest, The Wind Crystal, and a few more lands. Maze of Ith doesnt count so you are really only running 33 which is way too lean

No, it doesn't go infinite. The reason is in the rules for how to handle damage prevention/redirection effects and replacement effects. Prevention, redirection and replacement effects modify the result of an event as it happens, and any such effect that could apply to an event can only be applied to that event once. Shock will only get its damage increased one time, even if it gets bounced around a bunch of times.
In the example of Shock, Warrior en-Kor and Furnace of Rath: You cast Shock targeting the Warrior. You respond by activating the Warrior's ability some number of times, let's say 4 (note the Warrior was printed at a time when some rules and text templates worked differently - the current Oracle text reads ": The next 1 damage that would be dealt to Warrior en-Kor this turn is dealt to target creature you control instead"). Shock starts resolving, and let's say you want to apply Furnace's replacement effect before the Warrior's redirection effect (since you control the object that would be affected by the event, you decide what to apply first). Now the event is that Shock is going to deal 4 damage to Warrior. Warrior's redirection effect is applied and now the event is that Shock is dealing its 4 damage somewhere else. The Furnace effect won't be applied again after this point, even if you sent the damage towards another Warrior and activated them a bunch of times to bounce the damage back and forth.

Maybe read Torbran again. Torbran says this:
If a red source you control would deal damage to an opponent or a permanent an opponent controls, it deals that much damage plus 2 instead.
Torbran doesn't increase the damage dealt to creatures you control yourself.
I couldn't actually find an answer regarding e.g. Furnace of Rath with Warrior en-Kor, but I think you could actually infinitely double your damage. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny?
