So I've been playing magic on and off since childhood. My first deck was a monk lifegain pre made deck. I think it was one of those 40 card decks, I honestly forget, I was in middle school... a few decades ago now haha. I picked it back up seriously during Kaladesh though and started in the standard format (after a season of kitchen table magic). Then moved into modern, but I got a bit too spikey for my main play partner and we started getting into commander. Which was great for a bit, but honestly I prefer 1v1 formats. So I obsessed with modern for a while, lots of brews and builds but I soon got tired of the format. I didn't enjoy brewing in it as much once scam was eliminated. I know the format is incredibly healthy now (2025) but I prefer watching it played more then playing or brewing in it.

That said my new obsession for brewing has certainly become Pauper. For brewing and playing in. It's such a wonderful format, the brewing possibilities still seem wide open and shift with each new set. It's a great format and I wish I would've gotten into it sooner haha. I've brewed over 100 variants of different decks in it so far I think... I haven't looked in a while.

But yeah that's the story, I enjoy brewing, I tend to favor Rakdos these days but I enjoy every color. I don't seem to do much with white in magic, just doesn't usually scratch any itches for me.

capwner Haha yeah Dangerous Wager is a bit risky, but you're right it feels less risky than Cathartic Reunion at least more forgiving in a pinch. Also I totally forgot about the Mayhem mechanic thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Hello amarthaler thanks for the upvote! And to be honest this is just a concept build for me, I haven't tried it out yet, but if you or anyone else do I'd love to know how it goes. Also, happy to introduce you to a couple new cards, those two seem rather nice to include in a Learn/Toolbox sideboard. Really going for versatility with this build but I'm not convinced it is better than say mono-red dredge or even my Rad Mak Dredge build, but who knows lol. Tata
