Welcome to my take on a Self Mill deck

I myself have been playing magic since about 2004 right after the release of Saviors. Yes I know this was the time when a lot of players up and left magic, but I have stayed with it all the way until the release of my favorite set innistrad and the creation of my favorite deck archetype and MTG card Laboratory Maniac and Self Mill.

Why Butcher Tasigur?

Some would ask why the obsession with self mill, other would ask why take a wonderful commander and make it suffer through the misery of a slow and unreliable wincon.

Inspirations

As previously stated I adore Laboratory Maniac and self mill. The prime reason I still play self mill is due to the current meta in my play group being centered around Combo, reanimation, and control decks. this allows me to play the game at a moderate speed while being able to combo myself off if I go fast enough or are left alone due to the threat of other players at the table. so after spending some time looking at commanders that put cards into the graveyard either from their deck or hand, I stumbled upon the holy grail for self mill. thanks to Leptys and his deck Gitrog Dredge Combo [Primer]. but we couldn't just stop at the gitrog monster for milling ourselves, simply because we cant win for having no cards in our library without our trusty maniac himself. so we need blue and that is when we found Tasigur, the Golden Fang. He was perfect not only did he have

Delve (Each card you exile from your graveyard while casting this spell pays for .)

But it also had

: Put the top two cards of your library into your graveyard, then return a nonland card of an opponent's choice from your graveyard to your hand.

Not only does he Thin your graveyard of cards you no longer need, but he mills you. now some would think that only two cards put into your graveyard for four mana would not be worth it. but this is where they are wrong with the ability to thin your own graveyard it is very easy to manipulate what cards your opponents give you from your graveyard. and depending on the opponent you choose it might be a player who has the least worries of being effected by whatever card they chose. and with this in mind we could begin our theory crafting for our Tasigur self mill deck. using Gitrog Dredge Combo [Primer] as a good starting point for our mill now we needed to find cards that synergized and allowed us a quick and efficient way of milling ourselves without using infinite combos.
