Faith of the Devoted Discussion

Faith of the Devoted seems pretty useful as another wincon for all those cycles. Psychosis Crawler, as well.

Not a bad deck. Other than Faith of the Devoted though, it's pretty lacking in win conditions. Less Archfiend of Ifnir would be good too.

I only say it because Mists is (for all intents and purposes) considered the budget downgrade in 8-rack. Walkers are a lot more susceptible to removal compared to modern, even though Dreadbore and Hero's Downfall are legal.

And the Gitrog lets you draw off instances of lands hitting the grave. So say you decide to hit a land off Vaevy's trigger, you draw off the Gitrog. And you also get to play an extra land for turn. The combo is an infinite mana generator, in which you discard Dakmor Salvage to Skirge familiar, making black mana, and Gitrog checks the land hitting the grave, so you instead dredge your draw, and put dakmor back to your hand. If you dredge lands into the grave, those grant you additional draw triggers. I forgot to mention that you need a way to reshuffle your library (Kozilek is usually best) but with those factors, you can cycle through the entire deck, tailor your hand to whatever you need (by discarding what you don't to skirge) and sink this into an infinite mana outlet. The easiest ones are probably Walking Ballista to shoot the table, or Faith of the Devoted. The latter may not actually need a Graveyard shuffle effect depending on the state of your library, but you would merely need to discard 20 cards to Skirge familiar to drain the table for 40.

Just so I don’t clutter the Tier forum :)

On the contrary, Gitrog can be built quite competently on a budget! It’s main combo pieces are Skirge Familiar and Dakmor Salvage with any wincon. You can even keep it cheap and use Faith of the Devoted as an easy out. The rest of the deck is just ramp and redundancy. You could take my list and cut out the most expensive pieces (which I believe are the Dual land, Imperial Seal, Mox Diamond and Mana Crypt) and still perform adequately.

For Sidisi, it’s an excellent self-mill engine on a body. Ideally you’ll want Food Chain and its enablers: Misthollow Griffin and Eternal Scourge. Laboratory Maniac would be a strong way to win.

Grindig opponents out in a Group Hug fashion and preventing decks from doing anything feasible are the miserable ways this deck wins by.

If there is a need for it, Muldrotha’s still a 6/6 that can beat down but I’m open to suggestion if you think there are any enchantment based wins?

Lich and Second Chance offer an out of infinite turns into doing what we’d like.

If need be, there could be room for the infinite Gitrog combo, using Faith of the Devoted as an outlet.

Turn 5, if you don't miss a land drop, you could cycle at least one thing and return it to your hand, as well as activate Faith of the Devoted or Ruthless Sniper. That's not to mention the multiple 5-drops you have to play, so even if you don't have anything to do you should have something to do.

That's a cool list. Have you considered adding some things which benefit from your discarding in other ways than madness? Thinking something like Archfiend of Ifnir or Faith of the Devoted could be pretty good for a deck like this.

After realizing the potential full-to-zero power of Faith of the Devoted, I think it's almost definitely worth running 4 mainboard.
