First off, you need to find a wincon for your deck or some general idea of a path you want to follow into. This is the whole bases to winning more! Looking over your deck your theme seems to run around discarding and -/- counters but in all honesty your deck is pretty much everywhere, you should look into just choosing a single or secondary main component.

Run more cards like Bottomless Pit, Necrogen Mists, Oppression and Painful Quandary if you want to run more of the discarding option, yes of course some of these affect also include you but in the long run it stops your opponents from having more answers to your spells.

I would drop all these cards either they're not within your theme, there are better versions or they're not needed.
Burnished Hart & Solemn Simulacrum
Gonti, Lord of Luxury; very situational, he's a great card for possibly taking out their wincons but he's honestly only great as a commander.
Kozilek, Butcher of Truth; I love Kozi but he honestly isn't necessary in this deck and mostly just a fill in card.
Pack Rat; seems useless since you're not a rats based deck.
Zulaport Cutthroat; unless you plan on doing the Gravecrawler combo he's not useful.
Hero's Blade; extremely limited because you don't run many legendary creatures and even then if you use it for Lilli she'll flip later on.
Lashwrithe; equipment isn't recommended because it's not your main theme.
Panharmonicon; even though this is pretty much a stable in EDH you don't run enough ETB effects that'll make this more useful.
Faith of the Devoted; basically Zula Cutthroat but worse.
Torment of Scarabs; a really weak card that isn't that useful in EDH since we all start off at 40 life.
Triumph of Cruelty; in most cases you wont be the player with the largest creature on the field.
Words of Waste; because you'll be discarding a lot your hand will be very small this doesn't help at all with that.
Both Liliana planeswalkers; you'll almost everytime have your Lilli flipped so you wouldn't be able to use them.

Granted all of these are suggestions, do whatever you'd like with my advice! :D

Hey there! This looks like a great start to your first Magic deck! Welcome to the game, and to tappedout.net!

First of all, I would recommend reducing your deck size to the minimum - 60 cards. For every card you add over the minimum, it reduces your chances of drawing your best cards. I get that this might be hard to understand - if I add more cards, wouldn't my deck get better? However, let's say that Oracle's Vault is the best card in your deck. (This is just an example, your best card could very well be something else.) With a 105-card deck, you have a 1/105 chance (0.95%) of drawing Oracle's Vault. With a 60-card deck, however, your chances of drawing Oracle's Vault rise to 1/60 (1.7%), almost doubling your chances of drawing your most powerful cards. In any case, I'd take out the following cards:

This should make your deck a little more consistent, and hopefully a little more fun as well. In any case, I hope you have an excellent time playing Magic!

If you just want cards from Hour and Amonkhet in your deck you should change the deck to Standard instead of Modern. While the deck will also be Modern legal, if it contains no Modern cards, could be misleading.

Yeah, Faith of the Devoted is likely something to put in the sideboard. Razaketh's Rite is certainly worth considering, and I did think about it but again I'm worried about adding too many non-creature spells to the deck. It is probably best to build a different shell for the deck, likely adding blue to make the deck Grixis.

tardaniele: Hello! Glad you enjoy playing it. I'll give you my opinion on the cards you've mentioned.

Call the Bloodline: I love this as well, it has a lot of synergy with the deck. I used to run it in earlier versions but since I was playing Modern when I first built the deck, it was just too slow. I don't like removing Key to the City though, because when I play, I just dump the hand so fast and recurring card draw is just essential for this deck. But again that's my opinion.

Twins of Maurer Estate: This is just too awesome for the deck as well. The reason I was using Gifted Aetherborn instead is the lack of life-gain in the current deck, and he is a really good target for removal when you don't want your other important vampires being targeted. Should work exceptionally well with Call the Bloodline, as you mentioned, for those lifelink guys to help you out.

Doomfall: I loved this suggestion! I'll probably end up buying a set of four to test it out. It has no drawback in any time of the game, different from Lay Bare the Heart, which can be useless when your opponent is on top-deck mode. The only advantage this card has is the lower cmc cost, which is great for the consistency of opening hands and grabbing the information of your opponent's hand. I actually was running only 4 removals on the FNM (Grasp of Darkness) so I decided to include 4 more to have 8 total in the deck, and Doomfall seems like a great choice too.

Faith of the Devoted: This card seems pretty bad, I know, 3 cmc and no tempo at all. I just thought it would be a great inclusion to have more life gain to endure more on the game and to finish off games where you can't really hit with creatures (gotta hate that Torrential Gearhulk deck). You might be right in removing it for your version.

I have something I want you to consider when playing: your options when you're on topdeck mode. What are the discard choices when a unwanted Swamp pops up? You have Call the Bloodline, Stromkirk Condemned, Key to the City and Heir of Falkenrath  Flip. Depending on the board state, Faith of the Devoted can really come in handy to help you finish a game off. I'd probably always choose Key because more draw, is more discard triggers you can do per turn (that is considering you got rekt by a board clear lol - man I'm really traumatized by that Torrential Gearhulk deck).

Really nice deck! i love it!I built it, and I'm trying to run it with Twins of Maurer Estate instead of Gifted Aetherborn to have more madness cards and Call the Bloodline, removing 1 Key to the City and 2 Faith of the Devoted. I think the tokens could be helpful to sacrifice them for pariah and for the aristocrat. Maybe could be an idea also to change Lay Bare the Heart for Doomfall. What do you think?

ExtraEasy on Drakes, insects, burning and control

Okay, played 2 games this arvo. The first was vs White Red humans and I was pretty resoundingly hammered 0-2. I didnt get a good start in either game and once you are behind with this deck you are dun goofed. Ill need to mulligan more aggressively against this deck. Really gotta have a few counters in that opening hand- Grasp of Darkness is to slow (great for later in the game) but the 2b is unrealistic with all my tapped mana. Nearly won the second when Sweltering Suns wiped the board but i didnt have any cycling cards to activate my haven though there was a turn where i thought i might get ontop.

Second match was vs Oketra white tokens with anointed procession. I smaaaashed this twice 2-0. It was brutal. In both rounds it went pretty perfectly- I had the draw (disallow, censor, negate) to slow him down and got a Drake Haven out around turn 4-5ish. In the first game he had his board looking fairly resolved 2 x Anointed Procession, 2 x Anointer Priest and an Oketra the True... Hed managed to get up to 42 health with a huge dump of tokens and clearly thought he had the game won. I pulled an Abandoned Sarcophagus cast Archfiend of Ifnir from the GY and the next turn cycled 3 times and wipe the board... not to mention having 3 new drakes. He tried to hang around but 6 or 7 turns of cycling available from the GY gives you all the counters. I dont think he cast another spell in the game and watched his 42 health quickly disappear...

In the 2nd round he was looking set up again around turn 6-7 with a heap of tokens on the board and was a turn away from doing some serious damage but hadnt done to much yet (18 v 24 or something). I got my locust god out and managed to stay alive with a few locusts stalling. Chandra, Flamecaller popped into my hand. I rarely use her 3rd ability (x damage to all creatures) but a -3 is pretty cool with mr locust god. I had the board wiped and the ability to recovered very quickly. This one closed out quickly after that.

So its not a perfect deck: red, blue, black i think puts me behind the 8 ball but after today i love the chandra, the drake haven and the archfiend and it was a heap of fun to play. Have taken Faith of the Devoted into the sideboard and moved another Sweltering Suns and Hieroglyphic Illumination in but id like to be able to find room for 2 Unlicensed Disintegration... I just cant see where to cut at the moment-maybe a curator and an illumination? Also was pretty impressed with Collective Brutality's ability to keep ticking opponents creatures down.
