Maybeboard


Taking time w Tasigur is combo/control deck, that wants to disrupt opponents while ramping and drawing cards until it can assemble infinite turns loop, while all combo cards can be used as value pieces before big combo turn.

  • Assemble infinite turns combo
  • Go through all cards in deck, playing land each turn
  • Cannot lose to decking, because of Nexus of Fate *list* will allways be shuffled into deck
  • Alternatively in unlikely scenario when Nexus is exiled, there is backup plan with Blue Sun's Zenith for x=0, or playing Seasons Past, both cards go to the bottom of deck
  • Eventually find board clear for blockers and removal for whatever permanent prevents opponents from losing to damage
  • Then just kill everyone with commander damage from Tasigur, the Golden Fang or combat damage from any other creature
  • Alternatively force opponents to draw all their decks with Blue Sun's Zenith, which is fun, but comes with risk of drawing them into answer like free counterspell (i.e. Pact of Negation)
  • With Reliquary Tower Tasigur can put your whole graveyard in hand, while leaving Nexus of Fate as only card in deck, but this should not be necessary

  • But honestly, most opponents concede to infinite turns loop

Seasons Past + (Time Warp/Temporal Manipulation/Walk the Aeons) + (Demonic Tutor/Diabolic Tutor/Dig Up)

  • Play extra turn spell, tutor for seasons past and play it, return extra turn and tutor. Repeat.
  • 14+ mana
  • Seasons Past returns lot of card each iteration, not only combo pieces, granting massive card advantage and making it easy to win quickly
  • Mystical Tutor can be used, but then no additional cards will be drawn, at least cantrip has to be recurred with seasons past each turn to progress deeper into the deck
  • Nexus of Fate *list* can be used, but you need two tutors with different mana value and combo becomes a lot more mana intensive

Scholar of the Ages + (Time Warp/Temporal Manipulation/Walk the Aeons) + (Blink of an Eye/Into the Roil)

  • Take extra turn, cast Scholar, return extra turn spell and bounce spell, bounce Scholar back to hand. Repeat every turn.
  • 14+ mana needed
  • Cryptic Command, Mystic Confluence or Evacuation can also be used as bounce spell
  • Nexus of Fate *list* + random tutor also works, just recur tutor to search for nexus every turn, but it costs at least four more mana

Primal Wellspring   + (Time Warp/Temporal Manipulation/Walk the Aeons) + 2 of (Regrowth/Bala Ged Recovery  /Dryad's Revival)

  • Cast extra turn spell with mana from Wellspring, get two extra turns, in first turn cast regrowth effect to return extra turn and another regrowth effect from graveyard, next turn repeat from begining
  • Only 5 mana needed
  • Needs to flip Primal Amulet   first so its vulnerable to interaction
  • Nexus of Fate *list* + random tutor also works, just recur tutor to find nexus every other turn

The Mirari Conjecture + (Time Warp/Temporal Manipulation/Walk the Aeons) + (Blink of an Eye/Into the Roil)

  • Play mirari conjecture to return bounce spell, next turn return extra turn spell, on the last chapter bounce mirari conjecture in response to its final trigger, play extra turn spell to take two extra turns and replay mirari conjecture. Now you can repeat from beginning establishing loop
  • 12+ mana needed
  • If some pieces are in hand, then other cards can be returned in the first iteration
  • Combo can be easily disrupted in first iteration
  • Cryptic Command can be used as bounce spell
  • Nexus of Fate *list* + random tutor also works, just recur tutor instead of extra turn spell on second chapter, but more mana is needed

The Mirari Conjecture + (Time Warp/Temporal Manipulation/Walk the Aeons) + (Regrowth/Bala Ged Recovery  /Dryad's Revival)

  • Play Mirari Conjecture, doesnt matter what is returned on first chapter, next turn return recursion effect, on final chapter cast extra turn spell to take two more turns and with recursion effect return extra turn and mirari conjecture, replay mirari conjecture. Now you can repeat from beginning establishing loop
  • Similar to previous combo loop, but first chapter can be used to return any instant card
  • 12+ mana needed
  • Returning counter spell on first chapter can help you protect combo, then after loop is established card advantage cards are best
  • If recursion spell is in hand, than other cards can be returned in the first iteration
  • Combo can be easily disrupted in first iteration
  • Nexus of Fate *list* + random tutor also works, just recur tutor instead of extra turn spell on second chapter, but more mana is needed

Walk the Aeons + Exploration + Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait + (Crucible of Worlds/Life from the Loam) + 3 Island

  • Play walk the aeons with its buyback cost sacrificing 3 island, then 3 lands can be played from graveyard each turn thanks to combinaton of other pieces to cast walk each turn
  • If Life from the Loam is used to return lands, than its dredge cost have to be paid each turn, but thanks to Aesi more cards are still drawn
  • 6 mana needed, with minimum of 3 island, that come in play untapped. 8 mana if life from the loam is used
  • No more land drops can be made, but cards are still drawn so eventually switch to different loop can be made to win the game
  • Mystic Sanctuary can be one of Island to manipulate top of the deck every turn
  • Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait will draw 3 extra cards each turn

Mystic Sanctuary + (Time Warp/Temporal Manipulation/Walk the Aeons) + Tectonic Edge + (Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait/(Exploration + Tatyova, Benthic Druid)) + (Crucible of Worlds/Life from the Loam) + 3 other islands

  • Play extra turn effect, play mystic sanctuary to put extra turn on top of library, activate tectonic edge to destroy mystic sanctuary, draw extra turn effect when edge is replayed from graveyard thanks to other pieces, then replay sanctuary and repeat
  • 6+ mana needed
  • Without Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait or Tatyova, Benthic Druid no more cards would be drawn and no progress could be made
  • No more lands can be played without additional pieces, but eventualy another loop can be estabilished because more cards are drawn
  • Tectonic Edge requiers opponent to have at least 4 lands, but can target your land (Mystic sanctuary in this case)
  • If Life from the Loam is used, then no additional card will be drawn. But thanks to dredge, more cards will be put into graveyard until Nexus of Fate *list* is only remaining card in the library. But returning cycling land with it to addition to combo lands can draw extra card each turn
  • Extra turn spell has to be drawn before Life from the Loam is dredged
  • Nexus of Fate *list* + tutor trick also works here

Nexus of Fate *list* + empty library

  • Just play nexus every turn
  • This is final loop that will be done with this deck, all other loops will end in switch to this one
  • At this point, enough lands and cards are needed to win the game
  • No extra card draw permanent can be on battlefield or it will end up in loss because of decking
