I like Atraxa. I like Wurms... so I made an Atraxa Wurms deck.

Honestly, Atraxa herself doesn't do much for the strategy directly. She mostly allows us to sustain while we ramp up to the necessary 7+ mana so we can play our Wurms and such. She does make it easy for us to get Cipher triggers off with Stolen Identity .

This deck is basically a combo deck, trying to get the most value from the Wurm abilities.

The deck tries to copy and recur Wurms to take advantage of their enter-the-battlefield and/or on-death effects. Sac outlets are used to start the recur processes.

Sac Outlets

Variety of effects to give dynamic experiences while still performing it's main function of sac.

1. Ashnod's Altar : Free sac, gives mana.
2. Attrition : Creature removal
3. Birthing Pod : Limited creature tutoring onto battlefield.
4. Evolutionary Leap : Limited creature tutoring to hand.
5. Fallen Ideal : Free sac, auto-recurs, buffs and grants evasion. Searchable with Heliod's Pilgrim
6. Golgari Rotwurm : Life drain--can be a lot with recurring Symbiotic Wurm and Black Market
7. Greater Good : Free sac, card draw
8. Martyr's Cause : Free sac, light fog
9. Mortarpod : Burn and/or creature removal. Searchable with Stoneforge Mystic

Concerning removal, I've opted for more bang-for-your-buck and synergistic avenues of removal over a bunch of sorceries/instants. Ex: Instead of paying 4cmc for Return to Dust on my turn for that maximum value, I'd rather pay 3cmc for Aura Shards on my turn which I can take advantage of on potentially many turns, even during opponent's turns if I have the right Wurms in play and/or have the correct recursion on board. Overall there still isn't that much removal in the deck, but most of the removal cards can potentially have a profound impact on the game if everything is in order.

The BIG combo(s) in this deck:

Ashnod's Altar + One of these Wurms( Wurmcoil Engine , Symbiotic Wurm , Worldspine Wurm ) + Nim Deathmantle = infinite colorless mana and wurm tokens.

Combo Extensions:
• Mortarpod = infinite direct damage.
• Black Market + Golgari Rotwurm = infinite life drain on your precombat main phase.

Search for these cards and put them in this order, with Wurmcoil Engine being last :
• Bolas's Citadel
• Ashnod's Altar
• Nim Deathmantle
• Mortarpod
• Wurmcoil Engine .

Play Bolas's Citadel and use its effect to bring out the rest of the combo and hope no one stops it, or else you lose. Be brave!
