Thanks DragonOfTheWest for the interactions. I'm pretty sure Necrotic Plague and Mercy Killing trigger Giver of Pacts ability, because it's a spell or an ability that an opponent control, who make you sacrifice it. Cyclonic Rift is Cyclonic Rift and Darksteel Mutation is kinda of a fair card so it doesn't bowser me too much.

Next challenge : Make a card that depict the death of your favorite character in mtg. Make it flavorful.

Giver of Pacts could still be brought down by auras like Darksteel Mutation or Necrotic Plague . Also Cyclonic Rift . I'm not sure how it would interact with Mercy Killing .

remember, some things HAVE to go

Lingering Death and Rend Flesh and Chill to the Bone -- there are more refined solutions, such as Doom Blade and Go for the Throat Faster than lingering death and cheaper than rend flesh and chill to the bone. Slaughter Pact also could do the trick

Delirium -- if we're going for simple, this card misses the mark.

Red Elemental Blast -- cheap, and most often it is a blue spell that is the target. But this takes a counterspell slot and is pretty restricted.

Anarchist and Scrivener -- deck has plenty of less specific or cheaper spell recursion options

Death Cloud is just too hostile for a more casual setting.

Maybe consider some group hug cards like Standstill and Oath of Druids .

Games might be more fun if you add silly cards such as Measure of Wickedness and Necrotic Plague .

Since you're running birthing pod, you should look into getting a good birthing pod chain package going. I'll look into it later and post it here.

Something else occurred to me..

If a Necrotic Plague were to be put on my Commander with Assault Suit equipped, then it would just sit there as a deterrent against killing it without the risk of unleashing... the Necrotic Plague!!! lol
