Is there a “reverse” Terror?

Deck Help forum

I’m building a Mono-Black Voltron Commander deck, and as such, I’m running a lot of Intimidate/Fear effects, which renders virtually anything that dies to Terror/Shriekmaw/etc. unable to stand in my way.. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of “reverse” of Terror (something that deals with Black and/or Artifact creatures), or is Dark Betrayal the only option that I have in this department?

Some of the 2 CMC or less black instants that allow you to destroy black creatures include: Devour in Shadow, Disembowel, Fatal Blow, Fatal Push, Feast of Dreams, Gang Up, Go for the Throat, Hero's Demise, Human Frailty, Killing Glare, Smother, Soul Rend, Ultimate Price, and Victim of Night.

Some of the 2 CMC or less black sorceries that allow you to destroy black creatures include: Bone Splinters, Death Stroke, Defeat, Do or Die, Feast of Blood, Imperial Edict, Liliana's Defeat, Murderous Compulsion, Reave Soul, Severed Strands, Soul Reap, Walk the Plank, and Wretched Banquet.

There is a card that destroys a nongreen creature and makes them lose 3 life if you've cast another black spell that turn. Forgot the name.

I believe the card you're looking for Flooremoji, is Soul Reap.

Thanks Ryjo for the extensive list!

I’m already running Hero's Downfall, so I may just go with another 3-CMC for the unconditionality of Murder.. Of course there’s also trading instant speed for Planeswalker destruction in Never & Ruinous Path..

Decisions... Decisions...

Necrotic Plague intrigues me as well.. Imagine this floating around the battlefield, and the only thing you care about has Hexproof/Shroud! Lmao..

Metroid_Hybrid, they can't chose any creature then. If of course that is your only creature, NP's ability would fizzle with no legal target. Wish it said 'target creature' not 'target creature an opponent controls'.

That would be true in a 1v1 situation.. I’m talking about regular Commander; where there’s usually at least 2 other opponents to choose from..

Something else occurred to me..

If a Necrotic Plague were to be put on my Commander with Assault Suit equipped, then it would just sit there as a deterrent against killing it without the risk of unleashing... the Necrotic Plague!!! lol
