I can hear you now - "what, another Scion deck? Yeah yeah, turn him into Dragon Tyrant or Skithiryx, swing for fat commander damage and win." Yes, that's easy enough to do when you have access to all five colours and a dragon-on-demand. That's also very uninteresting territory at this point. But consider this - maybe turning the Scion into whatever huge dragon you want doesn't have to be the important part. He's also a reusable Entomb, and we all know how valuable that effect is for cheap. What can we do with that?

If all you're planning to do is stock your graveyard with the Scion, it might feel tricky - after all, once the Scion turns into something else, it is no longer Scion and can no longer use its ability. While the opportunity to use it once before the end of each player's turn isn't bad, don't forget that you can also activate the ability multiple times in response to itself, stocking whatever you want into your graveyard in rapid succession. Training Grounds helps make the process easier, reducing it to a mere to bin any dragon of your choice.

"Turn Scion into a dragon and he will attack for a day, but have Scion put a dragon you can reanimate into your graveyard and it can attack for a lifetime."

At this point, there are a number of dragons who are happy to drag themselves out of the graveyard without needing another card to do so. Scourge of Nel Toth, Ebondeath, Dracolich and Boneyard Scourge all have built-in escape buttons from death. Pitch them into your graveyard and it's not unlikely you'll be able to haul them out again later.

Of course, dragons mostly represent the top-end of a strategy, and they'll need some help to get going. Bladewing's Thrall is the ideal wingman (heh), jumping right back into play whenever a dragon shows up (from your hand or otherwise!) Sacrifice him to Scourge of Nel Toth, only to have him pop right back in when the dragon arrives. Alternate sacrificing him and Boneyard Scourge to Phyrexian Altar to score infinite comes-into-play and leaves-play triggers. Use him to drag back Gravecrawler, another ideal sacrificial fodder. At the end of the day, you can't argue with a free 3/3 flyer that won't stay down!

Of course, being able to grab any dragon is swell, but why limit yourself? Why not be able to grab any creature? Arcane Adaptation and Maskwood Nexus both turn everything into dragons, meaning Scion can well and truly slap anything into your graveyard. At this point, a whole new world of degeneracy opens up. Dump Anger or Genesis. Pitch Haakon, Stromgald Scourge for a persistent threat that can even bring back anyone else if you've got the Nexus. Summon a whole air force by turning into Lathliss, Dragon Queen and cycling Gravecrawler over and over again. Grab Priest of Fell Rites to reanimate anything else you pitched earlier. Every time your opponent attacks you, grab Vengeful Pharaoh to take out an attacker, then stick him right back into your graveyard each time he puts himself back on your library. The possibilities are endless!
