The mighty Reaper King is the cool, nonstandard lord for Scarecrow tribal! In addition to the usual +1/+1 boost, he scores you a free Vindicate every time a Scarecrow so much as shows up - talk about making an entrance! The only problem is the Scarecrow tribe... well, sucks. There are hardly any to pick from, and most of them are obtuse jank. Their King gives us access to all five colours, though, so there must be something to work with, right?

Just look in the same block he's from - the answer lies in Changelings! Amoeboid Changeling, Cairn Wanderer and Chameleon Colossus are all Scarecrows, meaning they score you that removal on a body a little more attractive than some Hoof Skulkin or whatever. As a result, we are running every Changeling in the game, as well as the handy Runed Stalactite to let you turn whoever else you want into every creature type.

Your deck is all colours and most of your creatures have all creature types. This is a rare opportunity we have on our hands, so why not run all the best lords the game has to offer? Lord of the Unreal, Knight Exemplar and Sunrise Sovereign can all boost your crew, leaving you with a small army of combat-ready shapeshifters bristling with keyword abilities and free removal. Let nobody scoff at scarecrow tribal again!

EDIT: Well, it was bound to happen. As of Modern Horizons, the deck no longer stables every changeling in the game. Some of the new ones are mighty exciting, and what they ought to replace is yet to be seen. Stay tuned!

EDIT EDIT: Well, it didn't take long for changelings to get a second revisit. / only, but there's some neat stuff. Some of them are strict upgrades to old changelings (Guardian Gladewalker -> Woodland Changeling, Orvar, the All-Form -> Mistform Ultimus,) others are mostly better versions of similar ideas (Mistwalker -> Turtleshell Changeling, Maskwood Nexus -> Birthing Boughs) and others are just new abilities in the world of changelings. Oh yeah, and there's even a new Scarecrow, funnily enough - Scorn Effigy would be pretty neat to drop for free right after The Reaper King to guarantee that immediate Vindicate.
