Goblin Chirurgeon Discussion

Goblin Chirurgeon is great in krenko decks, since it can keep your key pieces around, including itself.

Goblin Chirurgeon seems to not have any way to access the different arts? There were multiple arts in Fallen Empires, but only one is accessible when inputting the deck?

SirChris39, thank you. I appreciate that. The most important goblins to include are as follows: Goblin Recruiter, Goblin Ringleader, Skirk Prospector, and Goblin Chirurgeon. Also include protection, haste enablers, and untappers of your choice. Lightning Greaves and Thousand-Year Elixir are notable in that they fulfill multiple needs at once. I hope this helps you brew!

Hi everyone. I play the same deck and I find it very strong :) I recently made some changes due to the new cards released, which are going to create a lot of problems for our beloved commander goblin. Let me know what you think ..
Sanctum of Eternity is a valid card, but the fact that we can return our command to our hand only in our turn makes it a little less strong. Cloudstone Curio already replaces it at best. Strip Mine and Wasteland allow us to eliminate lands that create problems for us (for example The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale) or protect Cavern of Souls or Homeward Path from other lands that destroy lands.
Mogg Catcher is slow and it is often difficult to make the best use of it. Expedition Map allows us to tutor land cards as needed: do we have to destroy a land? Tutor Strip Mine or Wasteland. Do we have to be immune to counters? Tutor Cavern of Souls. Do we have to get the commander back in hand? Tutor Homeward Path. No mana red? Tutor land for mana.
Abrade provides more combat flexibility (also to deal with the feared 3hp body Drannith Magistrate). Deflecting Swat is a must in every red mono both in defense and attack (you can delete some black tutors :)), unlike Last Chance which is unfortunately a bit slow since it is a sorcery.
Price of Glory is valid, but it does allow the enemy to play spells using mana ramps. This makes it immune from land loss. Defense Grid always complicates the opportunity life. And for this it is simply stronger.
I am currently testing the snoop - kiki combo. Stay tuned :) regards

Hey, you're welcome.
Yes, I got a little carried away with suggestions, but I did that on purpose for advice in how to improve a theme for your deck.
If you choose to play the Dragon/Goblin theme then this is a good budget Goblin interaction to create repeatable Goblin tokens when you attack. Chirurgeon protects Krenko and you can sac a Goblin he creates after he attacks to protect him in combat. Chirurgeon can also protect a Dragon by sacing a Goblin. Krenko with protection can create a ton of Goblin tokens each time it attacks.
Can use any single Goblin token to champion Mob. Then you have a 5/5 Goblin who whenever any Goblin does damage to an opponent you create a Goblin token. Krenko and Mob can get out of hand creating Goblin tokens. Add Kolaghan or dashed Kolaghan with other Dragons for a huge attacks.
Changelings: Taurean Mauler, Changeling Outcast, Venomous Changeling, etc. are unique creatures in Magic because they're all creature types. With a theme of Dragons/Goblins these creatures can pull double duty since they can trigger Kolaghan/Lathliss since they're a Dragon and they also get the bonuses of Goblins.

You can use double square brackets around a card's name to create a reference link. It's the easiest way to make sure everyone understands what's going on in your question: Goblin Sappers, Goblin Chirurgeon
Yes, that works. When you regenerate something you create a sort of "shield" that says "the next time this would be destroyed this turn, instead remove all damage from it, tap it, and remove it from combat". The regeneration shield only kicks in at the time the destruction would actually happen, so in your example you can activate Goblin Chirurgeon any time before the Sappers' ability would destroy the creature. The latest moment you could wait to do it is at the beginning of the End of Combat step, in response to the "at end of combat" delayed trigger from the Sappers going onto the stack.
