Maybeboard

Introduction

After the ban of Paradox Engine this is my try to take a new approach on Urza . The main difference from other decks is the absence of other creatures besides Deadeye Navigator and Peregrine Drake , which lets us Mass Polymorph our commander Urza and his loyal Construct into this infinite mana combo. Then we recast Urza and win by casting our library.

Synthetic Destiny works as an extra copy of Mass Polymorph , although slightly worst because the combo comes into play on the end step.

Usual Interactions

The other usual infinite mana combos remain on this deck:

Power Artifact + Grim Monolith / Basalt Monolith

Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith

Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal

The list also contains the usual stax pieces that benefits from Urza's tap for ability:

Winter Orb , Static Orb

Single Card Discussion

Grafdigger's Cage : This is a NOMBO with Mass Polymorph and Synthetic Destiny , although I think is still a essential stax piece that disable faster combos and many other decks that rely heavly on the graveyard. We still have other win-cons to pursue in case we need this into play, and well, bounce spells do exist.

Extract : Exiles a Protean Hulk from target opponent's library. This card tries to compensate Urza's lack of speed to close the game by disrupting the fastest combo on the board. Also a really situational Fabricate when Karn, the Great Creator is in play.

Karn, the Great Creator : Assymetric Null Rod , why not? The +1 ability gives us an extra creature to be polymorphed into our combo. The -2 can ocasionally fetch an artifact exiled with Relic of Progenitus or Extract .

Vedalken Shackles : Steals a creature from an opponent and uses it to polymorph into our combo. Tutorable and can be activated at instant speed.

Umezawa's Jitte : Basically a dork killer that generates mana with Urza and can ocasionally pump a beater. This card is here because it's a personal favourite, probably not the best choice for who is aiming to build a cEDH list.

Meekstone : A stax piece against more casual decks, locking all kinds of beatdown creatures for is just too good to be out. Can be usefull against Najeela, the Blade-Blossom .

Retrofitter Foundry and Mirrodin Besieged : Tokens? Yes, tokens. The reason for that is to have fuel to Mass Polymorph when Urza is not avaliable. Retrofitter Foundry can use infinite mana to generate infinite tokens and be an alternative win-condition.

Conclusion

In my view this list is not cEDH viable (Tokens? Yikes..) but perhaps this polymorphing trick can prove to be better than expected or improved by other interactions I didn't think of. Who knows, maybe this ends up being just a good meme deck.

This list hasn't been extensively tested yet, so leave your thoughts on possible improvements.
