Frenzied Raptor

Creature — Dinosaur

I'm guessing you usually kill creatures with Lighting Bolt, right? Flame Slash is a heavier hitter, but only hits creatures. I'm not sure what you should replace it with, but Frenzied Raptor doesn't look like a very good card, 4/2s don't last very long and 3 mana is a bunch to invest in something that won't be sticking around. Maybe you could try Ranging Raptors? it's Green, but it's also possibly going to ramp you, and 3 toughness can handle 2 power First Strikers. It would benefit from one of those ping effects obviously, as would your Mutant/Hatchling to make extra 3/3s. If you want a nice ping effect, I saw a deck using Forerunner of the Empire and Reckless Rage to help hit their own dinosaurs to trigger abilities. Now that I check, Rage is pretty expensive, probably outside your budget, so probably disregard that.

You might try a 1 or 2 of Return of the Wildspeaker, it can either buff your dinosaurs nicely or offer a nice new hand if you've played out a big Dino.

Howdy! Gishath is a fun choice for dinosaur tribal, can't go too wrong!

In terms of general advice for cuts, I'd try to evaluate the cards in terms of if it wins the game or furthers your gameplan for the deck. For example, in your current decklist, Slayer's Cleaver doesn't seem to gel with either your ramp or dino matters themes, and it strikes me as a dead draw.

Also, while cool, Morophon, the Boundless unfortunately has the color identity of all 5 colors, so you can't "legally" run it with your current commander.

All in all though, I'd recommend focusing on cards that you enjoy playing, even if it's not "optimal!"

So with that out of the way, here are some cards I'd recommend cutting hahaha XD Frilled Deathspitter Thrash of Raptors Territorial Hammerskull Ravenous Daggertooth Frenzied Raptor Bonded Horncrest Rallying Roar Huatli's Spurring Slayer's Cleaver Overgrowth (There are cheaper cmc options that will both ramp AND color fix for you), Strength of the Pack .

Those are all cards that strike me as cool, but maybe worth cutting.

As for suggestions, Ikoria brought about a LOT of cool dinosaurs! Quartzwood Crasher can put in some work! I'd play Titanoth Rex over Ancient Brontodon as you can still cycle it for less mana, both are just big dumb creatures! It would take some cuts, but I've seen some people run Kaheera, the Orphanguard as a companion for your commander, so that could help you make some cuts as well? And for flavor Zilortha, Strength Incarnate is a flavor win!

I'd also recommend Kinjalli's Sunwing . It's a "hate dinosaur" that has evasion and can stall opponents enough that you can summon your big boy dinosaur! Speaking of, Apex Altisaur and Zacama, Primal Calamity are the biggest.

The thing I'd probably recommend adding over anything is Pyrohemia . It's a board wipe in a pinch (something that is needed to get to late game) and allows for some cheeky interactions that can be frustrating to deal with. It turns Siegehorn Ceratops Snapping Sailback and Bellowing Aegisaur into creatures that keep getting bigger or pump your entire team all while clearing the board for bigger attacks. Not to mention it also is a handy source for one ping damage for enrage triggers.

Hope these suggestions help! Happy hunting!

Hello.

What about cards like Past in Flames to recast Zenith Flare and cycled spells?

Also you can use Searing Meditation, its like Savai Thundermane, but enchantment. If you have lots of life triggers, it might help.

I have not much experience, but for me it seems like you need to focus a little. What your deck wants to do?

Do you really need all that walls and tap spells?

And that Frenzied Raptor?

Looks like you have a pretty solid handle on deckbuilding, so I'll just give you the main suggestion I have whenever I see Gishath decks. Cut the wimpy dinos like Raptor Companion , Frenzied Raptor , etc. That critical mass of dinosaurs is good for Gishath, but you have to weigh the benefit of drawing them any other time verses getting them for free. There's a pretty big gulf between the disadvantage of drawing that Raptor Hatchling instead of a Cultivate that would get out your Gishath two turns earlier, versus the advantage of possibly getting a Hatchling in addition to a couple six-drops that will actually impact the board. The same goes for mediocre tribal stuff like Drover of the Mighty , Imperial Lancer , and Pterodon Knight . I recommend you check out the EDHREC page for Naya. You can see the general good-stuff staples that would be better than the stuff I mentioned, or you can click on Gishath, and even chose the budget tab on his page at the top right. Good luck!

Yeah, there's not nearly enough lands. Think of it this way: Lands are 21% of your deck, as it is now. That's the equivalent of running 13 lands in a 60-card deck or 9 lands in a 40-card deck. You're built around an 8-mana commander, so 39 is the minimum you should be running, along with, at the very least, 8 sources of ramp.

I think these 3 videos will be very helpful for you. The first two are videos by The Professor, one on Commander deck construction, and the other on building a 3-color manabase for the format. The last one is SaffronOlive on common pitfalls in deck construction.

Next off, what you'll want to do is look at the EDHREC page for Gishath to see what other people are putting in their decks. If you're on a budget, you can also click at the top right to go to what people are playing in decks labeled as budget. Remember to include card advantage, ramp, removal that is either flexible or hits the whole table, and haymakers that will close out the game.

As for cuts, I would start with 4 to 7-mana non-dinos, since that spot on the curve will get clogged up pretty quickly, and you want to be putting expensive dinos out for free with Gishath. I would also cut Atzocan Archer , Emperor's Vanguard , Frenzied Raptor , Looming Altisaur , Nest Robber , Pterodon Knight , Raptor Companion , Raptor Hatchling , Ravenous Daggertooth , Sky Terror , Steadfast Armasaur , Voltaic Brawler , Cobbled Wings , Primal Amulet  Flip, Abrade , Blossoming Defense , Demystify , Lightning Helix , Righteousness , Shock , and Slash of Talons . They're all either too narrow, too weak, don't scale up well with the creature size or life totals of Commander, or don't make sense in your deck.

Good luck!

I would suggest cutting some of the one offs and focusing on a few key dinos. Frenzied Raptor might be a good cut, along with Raptor Companion and Orazca Frillback. I also noticed a lack of ramp, if you are going to go very agro, especially with big threats like Colossal Dreadmaw and Charging Monstrosaur you are going to want to bring those down ahead of the curve. Grow from the Ashes would be a great addition.

I think you could replace Frenzied Raptor with Deathgorge Scavenger. And maybe cut the Strength of the Pack for a couple Ripjaw Raptor. That would make it a bit more aggressive.
