Maybeboard

  • Rule #0: This is not a dech that rushes for an infinite combo.
  • Rule #1: There is no place for equipment that does not favorably alter board state
  • Rule #2: We don't want to draw attention with cards that let opponents believe we're heavily outvaluing everyone or comboing next turn. One example is Smothering Tithe. Inspiring Statuary is more than enough for this deck and does not raise that much suspicion.
  • Rule #3: Haakon is a secret late game tech that has three purposes: boost with Nameless Inversion, cleanup with Crib Swap, but most of all, unexpectedly swing for lethal with Fervent Champion.
  • Rule #4: There is a Godo, Bandit Warlord in this deck... use it as a glorified tutor or use it rightfully if you believe there's no other way to win. After all this is not a CEDH deck
  • Rule #5: Ad nauseam is only for refilling hand, there is plenty of lifelink to compensate.

Some good casual cards that almost made the cut:

Danitha Capashen, Paragon: Only removed because it is much less impactful late game. But very good card.

Knights' Charge: This card is telegraphing a wincon we do not have.

Knight Exemplar: Does not do enough for 1WW

Aryel, Knight of Windgrace: Too slow and not impactful enough for a 4 CMC

Balan, Wandering Knight: Very good card, but i'd rather use Kazuul's Toll Collector for 1 mana less.

Smothering Tithe: see Rule #2

Syr Konrad, the Grim: Telegraphs combos we don't have. Also Rule #2

Vona, Butcher of Magan: Costs 5...if only they gave her haste
