Lizard Blades

Artifact Creature — Equipment Lizard

Double strike

Equipped creature has double strike.

Reconfigure (: Attach this to target creature you control; or unattach this from a creature. Reconfigure only as a sorcery. While attached, this isn't a creature.)

So it sounds like you have a good game plan. If you're considering going with more equipment I'd add Blackblade Reforged. Also there's a card from Neon Dynasty called Lizard Blades with that new Reconfigure mechanic. If you don't think you'll do more equipment I think Open the Armory should be cut. Because at this point you aren't running enough Auras or Equipment for it to be effective. If you can afford Smothering Tithe it would help. I would suggest cutting Archaeomancer's Map.

Haha, nice. Yeah, I use TCG Player, and since they have the auto-shopper thing that finds the cheapest version, sometimes I'll get foils or alt arts or whatever, just since it's cheaper.

But yeah, that's not to say alt-art or foils or anything are bad if you like shiny stuff. Hell, I have this Little CutieJA in my equipment deck because of course I do, I love him so much.

But Caerwyn is right I think the 300-350$ is stretching it a little, but still pretty reasonable if you use it.

Cool deck!!!
Trepanation blade seems really out of place here.
Alternatively, would you consider Infiltration Lens, Lizard Blades, Rancor, or maybe Two-Handed Axe?

This seems to be more suited as a value based commander than a Voltron commander. It doesn't have a natural form of evasion, like trample or flying or anything like that. If you really want to go Voltron, you need to look into getting evasion on him, most likely in the form of trample. You've got some good choices in here, like Rancor, for example. A sneaky good evasion card you could run is Dauthi Embrace. I would not avoid equipment, and consider adding Trailblazer's Boots to the mix, as well.

Honestly, there's so much good equipment out there, like Fireshrieker, Sword of the Animist, Lizard Blades, just to name a few, and I'm trying to keep it budget. If you don't have a budget, you can go nuts with high-priced equipment.

I don't really like Blanchwood Armor and Claws of Valakut in here, because you are in three colors and therefore can't really focus on one of these, and you are running a lot of nonbasic lands, making it harder for them to really run up the power for you. I'd like Blanchwood Armor better if you were running Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth. There are some really high CMC auras you could run that would buff him up more, like Colossification and Epic Proportions.

I think you should look into some land recursion, too. Cards like The Mending of Dominaria and Splendid Reclamation.

You could add the following to make this deck a bit faster, and they're all quite cheap:

Sol Talisman Rakdos Signet Fire Diamond Charcoal Diamond Prismatic Lens Worn Powerstone

cards to remove: Blackblade Reforged, The Eldest Reborn, Smoldering Egg, Volcanic Dragon, Ring of Xathrid, Rune of Mortality

aslo i'd swap Victim of Night for Grim Bounty

i think you want to consider Swiftfoot Boots replacing Ring of Valkas

you should also really consider taking out the dragons for: Blood Cultist Dagger Caster Blood Cultist Prodigal Pyromancer Morbid Opportunist Deathbringer Thoctar Fireslinger Cunning Sparkmage

when those get deathtouch, you can ice any creature that poses a threat to zagras

I would optimize the buffs you give zagras to +3 power so you can kill people in 3 attacks Grafted Wargear Heirloom Blade

double strike is actually way better since the deathtouch will kill the creature on first strike damage: Fireshrieker Lizard Blades Embercleave Assault Strobe Berserkers' Onslaught Blood Mist

Markov Blademaster Temur Battle Rage

FrensDJ Thanks for trying it out! I'm happy to know people out there are using this deck. Would you mind telling me which cards and combos worked best for you?

As for upgrades/sideboard, I'm gonna add a couple Ogre-Head Helms because obviously, this being a mono red aggro deck, it lacks card advantage. I think trying to get Cement Shoes to work here is a little too wishful. It would go very nicely on Lizard Blades, but the fact that you can't block with whatever has the shoes equipped is too much of a setback.

I'll start working on a sideboard, although I don't play much BO3 so I'll take as many suggestions as I can get. Thanks again :)

For animate dead, some of your creatures will inevitably be destroyed. using 2 mana to reanimate a (6 or 7 drop) creature from your grave is great value and saves you the 4-5 mana of hard casting an equivalently impactful creature from your hand. low mana recursion is just hard to beat and it's budget friendly, i would definitely run it. fiendlash is an easy 2 drop to cut in this slot. although if you like 2 drop equipment, could consider Lizard Blades, as double strike could be great with some of your chonky creatures.
as far as what to cut to run some haste - I would just sort by mana cost. you have a lot of 7, 6, and 5 mana cost cards, it's a good strategy to reduce the total number of high mana cards.
for example, aggressive mammoth i would think is an easy cut. it seems to me like your deck is more about kind of buffing a single creature and connecting with it - the mammoth is kind of a go wide card and many of your creatures already have flying or trample so they'll be able to connect regardless. atarka world render is also a great card, but you only have a few dragons. that card really excels in a pure dragon deck, i might be on the fence about it here.
elbrus the binding blade is another interesting card - it's powerful but you definitely do not want to be hard casting this for 7! it is too slow. if you ran Godo, Bandit Warlord then you could tutor and cheat it out onto the battlefield, then i would maybe keep it in the deck.
but you are right it is difficult to cut cards. that is why i like the haste lands, hanweir battlements and flamekin village, it is easy to cut a basic land or a tapland to get some additional value.
in general as you play the deck a bunch of times, you will figure out when you topdeck a card or start with it in you're opening hand, and you're like dang, that's not what i wanted to topdeck - then you will eventually learn what you are willing to cut.
anyway hope these thoughts are helpful! keep on having fun and cheers!!!!

@MyFETTish: Thank you very much! Lizard Blades looks excellent and is very fitting! I'll try to get ahold of that one soon! Fireshrieker looks useable and on-theme, I'll think about that one. Elvish Piper, while not on theme, is a power card here and I think is a strong contender, for sure. Sneak Attack seems to be a wincon, but more fitting in a Jund deck where I can add more recursion via Black ... but may be worth it just the same. I'll have to playtest that one.
