Why Muldrotha?

Muldrotha is a once per turn Crucible in the command zone. She also puts us into one of the best colour combinations for a lands archetype: BUG . By not being in Red or White we do miss out on some powerful cornerstones of the lands archetype such as Knight, Valakut, Lord Windgrace, and many completely fair and balanced magic cards.

However, being BUG makes our mana base far more consistent and frees up more flex slots for testing and pet cards that wouldn't fit in a 5 colour version.

Combos

The reason we're doing this whole thing:

• Dark Depths+Thespian's Stage/Mirage Mirror gives you an indestructible 20/20 with flying at instant speed. You can hold up the mana to do this before your turn, and then easily recuccur the combo pieces if someone has an answer.
• Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth or the new dryad makes a rediculous amount of black mana for dumping your hand and/or graveyard onto the battlefield.
• Scapeshift with Ob Nixilis or even the humble crab can easily be gamewinning (especially with Greenwarden or a follow up Splendid Reclamation). What makes this line so powerful is it also lets us tutor up any number of our other lands combos to finish off the survivors.

Infinite Combos

A key strength of this deck comes from the fact that its infinite mana combo is made up of cards you want to play anyway. Since we don't have to dedicate a significant portion of the deck to a combo package, you can instead play out the game without trying to combo out but you have the option there. Depending on your playgroup and relative power levels these may not be welcome or desirable so always check in with the other players and use at your discretion. The combo is as follows:

• With Muldrotha on the field you can copy her with Phantasmal Image and sacrificing the original. You then use Lion's Eye Diamond to cast Animate Dead or Dance targeting Muldrotha, sacrificing the Image and replaying LED. You can then use the diamond to replay Image and repeat the loop producing unbounded and . You can then kill everyone with a big Walking Ballista or through other onboard means
