I would include more mana rocks as I feel you might not have enough ramp to consistently support your curve. Arcane Signet, Dimir Signet, Golgari Signet, Simic Signet, Talisman of Curiosity, Talisman of Dominance, Talisman of Resilience, Fellwar Stone, Mind Stone, and Prismatic Lens are all good options. I would replace your Dimir Locket and your Golgari Cluestone each with one of the listed and then add in 4-5 more of your choice. You could also run spells like Farseek, Cultivate, and Kodama's Reach to both ramp and fix your mana.

An interesting card for your commander that you might like is Zur's Weirding. Benefits you the most since you don't mind if your stuff goes into your graveyard and you get to control everybody else's hand to net you an advantage.

Like your deck! Hope this helps. :^)

Nice to see another list on this. I just "finished" drafting a Zaxara deck myself.

If I may suggest some things. I would try to clean up your land manabase a bit. Personally I don't like running tapped lands unless they generate some real advantage, otherwise you're just losing initiative. Path of Ancestry is one tapped land that might be worth the include here since you'll get the scry when casting hydras, as well as its manafixing. But I would drop the guildgates and the bounce lands. Also some potential cuts/swaps: Hinder for a Disallow or Dissolve, swap Chord of Calling for Green Sun's Zenith or Finale of Devastation, swap Bonder's Ornament Everflowing Chalice and Golgari Cluestone for Dimir Signet Golgari Signet and Simic Signet.

Let me know if you'd like feedback or not.

Merciless Executioner , Fleshbag Marauder and Plaguecrafter are great for experience points and dealing with non token decks

Glowspore Shaman is good for selfmill and can grab a land.

Golgari Findbroker can help get an artifact, enchantment or land out of the graveyard.

Deadbridge Chant is nice in recursion decks but can be a bit too random for some people.

Altar of Dementia and Ashnod's Altar are great free sacrifice outlets if you can fit them in you budget

Poison-Tip Archer and Vindictive Vampire are budget extras for additional drain

Mana rocks like Golgari Signet , Golgari Locket , Golgari Cluestone , Mana Geode are always important to help cast bigger spells early. and if you can put in a Sol Ring

There aren’t enough mana rocks, consider adding Sol Ring , Mana Crypt , Lotus Petal , Golgari Cluestone and the man himself, Chainer, Dementia Master

As a budget alternative, You can add Unstable Obelisk , Wayfarer's Bauble , Worn Powerstone , and Coldsteel Heart

  1. I love this commander and think you've got a great start and idea, but you need to fully commit to the fact that this deck is all about Skullbriar being huge and smashing face, or one of his friends doing it. .
  2. You should put in Increasing Savagery , Hardened Scales , Solidarity of Heroes , Reyhan, Last of the Abzan , Fungal Behemoth , Vastwood Hydra , Retreat to Kazandu , Predator Ooze , Blessings of Nature to push the +1/+1 theme to the max. .
  3. Now, 2nd problem is having big creatures without trample. I see Tuskguard Captain and you've got Rancor already, which is 100% awesome and reusable, but you should have 2 reusable trample activators, so I recommend also adding Ring of Kalonia . .
  4. Having big creatures attacking also is usually stopped by awkward blocks. You need slightly better cheap removal so I recommend Titanic Brawl , Ancient Animus , Abrupt Decay . .
  5. 3rd Problem is when they actually block and kill something because they have no other way to deal with it. Make them hate blocking by just having Mer-Ek Nightblade on your field. And then resummon stuff with Journey to Eternity  Flip! .
  6. 4th Problem is when you're smashing for 17 trample damage a turn, but they've got some stupid elf-shaman combo or human-ally combo that gains them 20 life a turn. And now they're at 55 life. Awkward. Get a sneaky kill in instantly with Tainted Strike on one of your big trample guys, just make sure you were about to do 10+ normal damage, and surprise win. (please put Tainted Strike in, even if you ignore every other card I suggested) .
  7. 5th Problem is your life-total. Sometimes you just need your 12/12 to have lifelink. Best way is Loxodon Warhammer , plus it gives you another trample activator!! .
  8. Also for ramp you should include Incubation Druid and Rampant Growth . I'd also use hexproof enabling with Alpha Authority .
  9. I would definitely remove the following since they don't fit with your deck idea overall to make room: Elves of Deep Shadow (don't need), Longtusk Cub (it ain't ever gonna happen), Witchstalker (useless against a red/white/green deck), Gaze of Granite (since it kills your things too), Animation Module (its slow and you should have better things to do with your mana than make 1/1s), Cloak and Dagger (no rogues, it's slow, Alpha Authority is better), Golgari Signet should be replace with Golgari Cluestone so you can sac/draw when you don't need mana anymore. Manalith (you have an aggro curve, don't need THAT much ramp), Plague Boiler (you're not a control deck), Skullclamp (since we're taking out Animation Module , you've got enough good draw), Wayfarer's Bauble (Rampant Growth is better), Greater Good (you're aggro not a graveyard-based-conrol deck), Preferred Selection & Primitive Etchings (because again you're not control, you want to be aggro). .
  10. I would also cut down on the # of fancy lands that don't add b/g, and play a few more basics for fetching with your ramp cards and being able to play commander on turn 2 more likely.

Spirits on Glissa, Scrap Trawler $50 EDH

Hi bushido_man96,

Traveler's Amulet and Wanderer's Twig are very good in this format, I do use them frequently in $50 budget decks (example 2C Mardu Alesha, Boros' Crust.

Whip of Erebos is very important in this format, often because combos are less prevalent, and often you will be killed through having your life reduced to 0. Lifelink is powerful in $50 budget commander league. Also, it's an artifact so can avoid removal, plus it allows me to recur creatures like Fleshbag Marauder/Slum Reaper/Merciless Executioner/etc that I can't recur, to trigger my Glissa, the Traitor ability to return my artifacts. Sangromancer to can gain quite a bit of life in an Barter in Blood/Mutilate/Etc type situation.

I did opt-in things like Golgari Cluestone/Horizon Spellbomb/Etc because of draw or LTB triggers as well (on stuff like Mycosynth Wellspring for example. I thought I needed more tutors Razaketh's Rite/Diabolic Tutor but you might be right where I need more ramp now. I'll try and get some reps in, I have 4 $50 commanders now, so i usually randomly choose, but I can select, last season, and this season Glissa, the Traitor runs a 33% win ratio (in 4-player pods), so it is fairly consistent.

Graveborn Muse recently added has been doing tons of work for me, giving Bone Picker a chance now, really like the deathtouch.

Feyamius on Hapatra & The Attack of the Snakes!

I really like the Bloodspore Thrinax in this deck. But I'd cut kind of every other +1/+1 counter card. The Thrinax lets your new snakes come into play bigger and lets every creature neutralize some -1/-1 counters put on them to get more snakes, which is awesome. But the other +1/+1 enablers aren't strong enough to keep up with the -1/-1 synergy of this deck.

You could find a way to get Hapatra through, e.g. Whispersilk Cloak or Key to the City. Some ramp will be useful as well, the usual suspects would be Fellwar Stone, Golgari Signet, Golgari Cluestone, Commander's Sphere, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Rampant Growth.

Rupture Spire and Transguild Promenade are strictly better than Survivors' Encampment and Unknown Shores, but you really don't even need them in a two-color deck. Try Golgari Guildgate, Golgari Rot Farm, Jungle Hollow, Hissing Quagmire, Llanowar Wastes, Tainted Wood, Temple of Malady. Terramorphic Expanse is a second Evolving Wilds, Opal Palace and Path of Ancestry should be auto-includes in a budget deck.

Oran-Rief, the Vastwood and Grim Backwoods should be nice functional lands in this deck as well. And speaking of dying snakes for card draw: Skullclamp.
