Artifact

{T}: Add {W} or {U} to your mana pool.

Azorius Cluestone : Instead use Heraldic Banner . You can choose black and simply pump and have any color.

I dont know if the snow lands are wroth it since only Graven Lore uses it and there are better card draw cards.

Hey, looking at your list I have a bunch of opinions. I'mma drop those for later reference. This comment will be a mess, I'm sorry, I'm not gonna write a cohesive essay with a proper layout.

TL;DR: More boardwipes, less pillowfort, less creatures, +1 or 2 wincons.

Vryn Wingmare: taxing yes, but also taxes like 70% of your spells which I just can't see being worth it. At that stage, maybe run Sphere of Resistance. At least that hurts opposing creature decks too.

I don't love cards like Ghostly Prison because even though it does stop a bunch of random damage and everything it still won't stop the Voltron coming your way if they want to. On top of that your Magus of the Tabernacle will be an issue with your high creature count. So I'd consider getting rid of Baird, Steward of Argive and friends.

You only have three boardwipes, you're better off running more of those than pillowfort effects in my opinion. Consider Cleansing Nova, Rout, Time Wipe, Divine Reckoning. I like the last two a lot for this deck. Also where's your Cyclonic Rift do you not have more copies?

I'm very double on Isperia, Supreme Judge as a card. It's only 4 mana here which might make it good enough, but you're relying on opponents doing something which is usually not where you want to be. Mangara, the Diplomat in contrast, at least has muliple triggered abilities which does get triggered a lot, although with your taxing probably still a bad include, especially for it's $ cost. In the same wake I think Fatespinner, even though annoying for sure, gives opponents more options than you would like.

Nitpick, but Brainstorm becomes considerably worse if you don't have a bunch of fetches or other shuffle effects. Same goes for Mox Opal and your low artifact count. Though that one might still be good enough, albeit a little inconsistent with the current artifact count.

For counterspells, consider Memory Lapse or maybe even Essence Scatter or False Summoning. Also get Swan Song back in, a 1 mana counterspell that doesn't have a pay x out is probably still worth it's spot. Maaaybe on a super tight 100, but it's not like you're at that stage right now. And get rid of Render Silent three mana isn't worth it for the added silence in my opinion. Just keep the cheapest counterspells so you yourself can be more efficient with your own mana.

For ramp: Your commander is 4 mana, and getting him out is really good for you. Your ramp, for this reason, should be cmc 2 and below if possible. On top of that, due to Augustin's cost reducing abilities, you prefer your ramp to generate colored mana. So imo get rid of Azorius Locket and Azorius Cluestone. Instead look towards Coldsteel Heart and Talisman of Progress, maybe even a Sapphire Medallion, Pearl Medallion, Wayfarer's Bauble, Knight of the White Orchid. Or maybe Mind Stone, Walking Atlas, Everflowing Chalice. Maybe don't fix colors but at least curve out augustin. Finally please at least play Commander's Sphere over the Cluestone.

Also, please for the sake of our group, play an additional wincon. Right now you have Expropriate, Approach of the Second Sun and Smothering Tithe + Stasis lock. I know control decks don't traditionally run too many wincons, but keeping a lock on the board long enough is difficult and we won't usually feel like sitting through you trying to contain us for that long. Also where's Dramatic Reversal to go with your Isochron Scepter?

A card like Lightning Greaves might just be worth it considering how much Augustin will be hated.

More edits, some sad cuts had to be made due to a super tight budget. I am a bit unsure about the amount of interaction currently ran, and about the effectiveness of a card like sun titan, as I haven't been able to test vs other decks and only really play solitaire.

out:

Swords to Plowshares, Blue Sun's Zenith, Wrath of God, Detention Sphere, Gilded Lotus, Thespian's Stage, Ethersworn Canonist, Counterspell, Meteorite, Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, Ephemerate, Ghostly Flicker.

in:

Fumigate, Azorius Cluestone, Hedron Archive, Island, Fblthp, the Lost, Arcane Denial, Rishadan Cutpurse, Tithe Taker.

I'm assuming the deck's aim is to basically wall up and stall for a win condition? If so, I definitely recommend Counterspell , Render Silent , Lavinia, Azorius Renegade and Propaganda for those reasons. Depends on your budget of course. Counterspell and Render Silent are straight up counters, making any spell fizzle out and the opponent get set back. Render Silent also keeps that opponent from trying to counter or remove your stuff for the rest of the turn. Propaganda is another "pay 2 to attack you" spell, and Lavinnia helps slow opponents down.

I'd also recommend some mana-making artifacts. You have a pretty high average converted mana cost so they'll help you cast more spells. Some pretty cheap ones are Mind Stone , Star Compass , Commander's Sphere , Darksteel Ingot , Azorius Keyrune , Azorius Signet , Azorius Cluestone , and Azorius Locket . For really, really budget you could also play Manalith . It can be hard for Blue or White to play big spells so they're pretty useful.

Blue has excellent draw power. Ponder , Brainstorm , Opt , Impulse , and Sleight of Hand (ignore the price listed, its been reprinted in newer sets at a cheaper cost), and Drawn from Dreams are all great spells to dig for what you need.

That's all I can recommend for now. Do what you will with my suggestions depending on your budget, and when you play the deck I hope you have fun!

No partnered commander to go along with? Part of Ishai's 'power' is being able to have another commander in the zone to expand/customize deck strategies. I know not a lot of the partners are cheap but you could add Kraum, Ludevic's Opus for the red needed to add Kykar, Wind's Fury . If you're intent on keeping UW and birds/wizards focused, obviously that's fine, just sad to see the partner ability be stagnant.

With your average CMC, I think you'll have more success by going up to 34-36 lands.

Please, please, please, please find literally any other mana rock to replace Manalith . Mana Geode , Darksteel Ingot , Azorius Cluestone , Azorius Locket , Mind Stone , Fellwar Stone , and Heraldic Banner are all better, though for theme and flavor you probably want Azorius Keyrune . None are these are particularly expensive and most are very budget so there really isn't a reason to use the vastly inferior Manalith .

Noire_Samhain on SUPER life gain deck

Alright, so- here's some tips for building now that you have a fitting commander. Definitely focus on repeatable life-gain more than sorceries or instants. Riot Control though is an good card against aggressive, creature-based decks going for the kill.

Blue/White lifegain is a little harder to build, as Blue rarely has life-based synergy. But its doable, especially due to white. The Soul Sisters ( Soul Warden , Soul's Attendant , and Suture Priest gain you life as you get more creatures. This synergies well with any tokens you make.

Dual lands are great for getting the right colors out. You don't necessarily need the expensive ones to build a fun deck. Meandering River , Azorius Chancery , Tranquil Cove , Irrigated Farmland , Boreal Shelf , and Coastal Tower are all cheap dual lands. Cheap means entering tapped though, just to warn you. But it can be better than basic lands at times due to either color of mana as needed. And oh, speaking of mana- Azorius Signet , Azorius Locket , Azorius Keyrune , and Azorius Cluestone are great artifacts for ramping up to bigger spells. White and Blue lack a lot of ramp, so its something to think about.

  1. Sol Ring -> Azorius Keyrune: Taking out Sol Ring bc it's oppressive. Kind of a soft ban.
  2. Azorius Cluestone -> Ojutai Monument: Having a 4/4 dragon available is better than a single card draw when we have mana to burn.
  3. Mana Vault -> Basalt Monolith: moving towards 3 drop ramp to synergize with Trophy Mage.
  4. Auramancer -> Ironclad Slayer: Auramancer may technically have more targets, but the slayer hits our 3 hexproof/shroud equipment, which is more valuable than most of the non-aura enchantments. Plus Sun Titan gets many if not all of them back as well.
  5. Wingmate Roc -> Keeper of Keys: Roc conceptually has good value, but it relies on Raid. Keeper provides card draw as well as mass evasion for finishing.
  6. Ugin's Insight -> Recurring Insight: originally replaced with Trial of Knowledge and while that card is good, I wanted non-etb card draw effects in case of Torpor Orb or similar etb hate.

First, run Path of Ancestry and Opal Palace. With your Ghostly Flicker, Halimar Depths (and maybe even Sejiri Steppe) could be twice as good. Azorius Cluestone is nothing to sniff at as well, providing card draw in the late game.

Then ditch Curse of Chains for Afterlife.

I don't think Wormfang Drake does anything for you, as well as the support of Expedition Raptor with you flickering your stuff all the time. Speaking of it: I'd not deny myself the value of Displace in this deck. Therefor, you don't need Aether Spellbomb.

And did you know that Breath of Life has an expensive brother called False Defeat?
