The most recent Commander VS episode had the theme of their favorite video game. So, I asked myself,

What would my video game commander deck look like?

I love Skyrim, and many other RPGs, and thought it was perfect because there are so many crossover elements of the worlds. I wanted to try and make it as flavorful as possible while still maintaining a functioning deck. Here's what I cam up with.

Adun Oakenshield is my Dragonborn and the rest of the deck incorporates as many aspects of Skyrim as I could include

Daedra

I only included some but I think I found some that translated well into the MtG world

Master of the Wild Hunt is Hircine who is the Daedric Prince of the Hunt

Rune-Scarred Demon is a representation of Molag Bal the God of schemes

Master of Cruelties is Mehrunes Dagon, the foe of mortals. I also kind of thought he looked like the Dremora that serve him

Magus of the Library is Hermaeus Mora the Prince of knowledge. The card is perfect for flavor and function. If you've ever been sucked into his black books you may realize the art is somewhat reminiscent of that.

Races

These are all pretty self explanatory except I think there were certain ones that were better for flavor but not for function that I wanted to mention.

I think Goblin Dark-Dwellers is a much better representation of the Falmer but with so few targets I went with Shattergang Bros. instead. All I know is that I wanted to use Goblins since they seem to look the closest.

If Saskia the Unyielding was my Dragonborn I could have used some of the white soldier cards for the imperials like Assemble the Legion, but the Garrison seemed close enough. Also, a lot of the Giants in white are much closer to the ones in Skyrim. The only other good Giant in Jund colors is Inferno Titan but he appeared even more off by seeming like an "elemental." Borborygmos is another option but he's a cyclops.

Barktooth Warbeard was going to represent my Jarls but it seemed like too weak of a card to use.

Rasputin Dreamweaver would make an excellent Grey Beard but he's definitely not in my colors. I'd have to use Ragnar as my Dragonborn for that.

IntheWild

Here you'll find all the stuff you would run into while roaming freely between holds: bears, spiders, bandits, amateur necromancers, hunters, wolves, elk, etc...

Godo, Bandit Warlord is another option for the bandits of Skyrim and even has some equipment to search up.

Also found throughout Skyrim are the word walls where you learn new shouts, guardian stones, and of course dragons.

Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund may make a better Alduin in flavor than Prossh because of his synergy with dragons, but I like Prossh more the synergy he has with the deck in it's entirety.

Equipment

There are a ton of options for equipment but I just went with these because I liked them the best. I didn't want anything that added too many abilities although I could see them as just simply being "enchanted."

And of course we can't forget our staff if your Dragonborn is a mage.

Spells

Destruction, Restoration, and Conjuration! ...Sorry Illusion and Alteration

I thought it was pretty neat to try and make the instants and sorceries into categorized Skyrim magic and think I got it pretty well.
