Hey, I'm in the process of trying to make a discard based mono-black deck. I have just ordered cards for it so I can't actually play test it yet making it more difficult. But mainly I'm struggling getting the deck size down. If you wouldn't mind havin' a geeze and letting me know what I could do without or something I could add, that'd be great. Cheers! P.S. I don't play competitively, just with friends.

Can you help me out with my Mardu Voltron deck? I have been trying to get more out of it and have it work much better without spending over 350, I do intend on getting all the swords for the deck but I am starting off with two for now.

hey man thanks a ton for the tips on the manabase, I appreciate it a ton, especially how it was all layed out and stuff. I'm pretty sure I have some floating around so I'll be updating the deck soon. Thanks again, and happy brewing to you too :D

Hey I was hoping you could help me improve the manabase for Death is OK for Prossh. It's my favorite deck but I need some help finding more efficient mana. I appreciate it if you take the time to look :)

Hi, I was wondering if you could take a look at my deck: Black Aggro. It would really mean a lot! Thanks!

Looks like you got most of the major players minus these-
Other good stuff
You can also search up planeswalkers now as well since they are legendary. That opens up a whole other aspect of deck building depending on what you want to do. Hope this gives you some more ideas to brew with!

Karueeveedeen, unfortunately Fracturing Gust cannot be in the deck because of its casting cost, putting it outside of the commander's colors.

Servo Exhibition and anything with fabricate is pretty good with Tempered Steel
Spell Pierce>Negate in decks that run less than 20 lands.

xKitarux, would love to take a look!
Not sure how much I like Boompile here. You don't mind bouncing creatures since you play so few but blowing up your own equipments could be really bad for you. I would stick to bounce spells like Evacuation, River's Rebuke, AEtherize etc... If you are worried about permanents that blue does not handle well, like enchantments, you could play cards like Chain of Vapor.
Hoversail shouldn't be needed since your commander is basically unblockable
Here are some other equipments/auras you may not have considered yet. Lu Xun loves effects that trigger upon combat damage since he is almost always unblockable-
Loxodon Warhammer>Butcher's Cleaver
Its always good to have "back up" voltron creatures incase Lu Xun dies too many times to be recasted efficiently -
Some other good stuff
If you are looking to trim some fat and reduce the price tag of the deck, I would cut Thran Dynamo, Top, Homeward Path, and Generator. That might free up enough funds to spread some love across some other upgrades.
Hope this helps some!

BIG gap in your 2 drop slot with far too many cards in the 3 and 4 drop slot. I know Arbor Elf+Sprawl really encourages you to jump past the 2 drop slot but I wouldn't overlook it. Here are some options-
I would drop an Athreos since they are bad in multiples and all the Hierarchs since they are your worst 4 drop. This should drop 7 creatures from the 3 and 4 slot into the 2 slot.
Your mana base looks pretty painful as well with 10 shocks in your deck with fetches. I would try and get that number down to around 4 shocks so that your deck is less painful. Replace some of the shock lands with painless color fixing like Concealed Courtyard, Blooming Marsh, Stirring Wildwood, Shambling Vent, Twilight Mire.
Other good Abzan options

Not a Spirit player, sorry, but I do think I know how you can help you tron matchup. You can run hate creatures tp Coco into like Gaddock Teeg to keep them off their payoffs or you can simply run Ceremonious Rejection. The card is also very good against Affinity so it shouldn't feel like your taking up too many SB slots devoted to one deck. The card is brutally efficient against them paying only 1 to counter everything in their deck, Etron or regular.

No problem AwesomeDoofus! Glad my suggestions could be of some help!
It's true that more efficient CMCs will often lead to higher prices i.e. Liliana's Caress vs Raider's Wake. Though, if your LGS (local game store) is selling Liliana's Caress for 8$, that is truly egregious. You can find them here for 2-3$ a card here TCG Player and I suggest buying other cards on that website since they have very competitive pricing.
My opinion of Consume the Meek is not very high considering that you can wipe the whole board for the same mana cost in cards like Crux of Fate. Pestilence Demon is also pretty meh to me because it is terribly expensive unless you are running some kind of reanimation deck with cards like Entomb and Animate Dead OR ramp spells like Dark Ritual, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and Cabal Ritual. If Tempt with Immortality is already a very medium card in your deck, then I would shy away from adding other medium cards to the deck like Crypt Incursion just to make the other medium cards better. It's simply better to not have the initial medium card in the deck to begin with. The other cards I'm not so big on as well, especially when you consider that you wanted to add more discard to the deck. These other cards would make that hard to do.
Unfortunately the best discard effects are pretty expensive because they see play across multiple formats. These include-
-to name a few
The other problem with discard spells is that they lose their potency late into the game because people will simply be drawing and playing their only card and have nothing to discard. This is why cards like The Rack and Black Vise are so good. These cards create tension within your opponent and gives value to your discard spells late into the game. Your opponent will not want to play anything so that they can keep cards in hand to not take damage from the artifacts, this means your discard spells will actually be worthwhile late into the game creating a lose-lose situation for the opponent because they will take damage from the artifacts if they play what they draw, but if they don't play what they draw you may just make them discard it anyway and how can they win if they are not playing the cards they draw? A deck that looks to enable this strategy on a budget for 1vs1 (so no Liliana of the Veil or Thoughtseize) might look like this-
4x Dark Ritual (this card enables you to do very powerful things early in the game such as play Hymn, and Inquisition on turn 1)
1x Waste Not
4x The Rack
4x Black Vise
Two things to notice here, 1 there are no creatures. This means cards like Innocent Blood, Pox, and Smallpox do not affect us in that way, only our opponent. Our main win condition here are the Rack and Vise, so no need for creatures. The Mishra's Factorys are just a plan B. This also makes a lot of our opponents cards, like removal spells, very bad against us limiting the amount of impactful cards they can play against us. The second, is you'll notice there are a lot of 4ofs. Rather than having 1 of this and 2 of that, having multiple copies of 1 card increases the percentage that we actually draw it or have it in our opening hand. What this means is that our deck is much more efficient because the chances and percentages of us drawing the cards we need are as high as they can be. This is an important aspect of deck building to keep in mind.
Now, that last deck was a true discard deck. If you want to play creatures though and want to be swinging for damage in Mono then I would suggest a Devotion deck which exploits the power of cards like Gray Merchant of Asphodel by trying to get as many symbols on the battlefield as possible. A Devotion deck with budget in mind (so no Phyrexian Obliterator) for 1vs1 might look like this-
4x Doom Blade
4x Brain Maggot
Now these two decks I put here are just simple examples of different directions to go, obviously if you do a mix of both of them, then you will inevitably dilute the strategy of one another but that's certainly okay if that's what you want to do. It's kind of where I would put the deck as it stands now. You have some discard, you have some creatures, some of it synergizes with the rest, but as a whole it is not as focused as the decks above. All of this is to answer your last paragraph when you ask, "What is worth keeping?" Well, that's a tough question because we first have to ask, "What is it we are trying to do?" Once you answer this, you can then eliminate the cards that don't help in those areas and add more copies of the ones that do. Now, I don't want to push you one way or the other, I simply want to provide the options so that you know what possibilities are out there.
I hope this was not terribly overwhelming, and you are right, this is what I enjoy doing on this site so its no trouble to me! So if you have more questions please feel free to ask!

Just an FYI Sol Ring is not Modern Legal!
Delirium is all about having multiple card types in the graveyard, which is why Grapple with the Past is pretty good in this deck since it mills over different card types straight into the graveyard while still getting cards back that you'd rather have in hand to cast. I suggest going up on the numbers you have for that card.
some card types are more difficult to get in the graveyard than others. Sorceries simply need to be played but it can be difficult sometimes to get enchantments or artifacts in the graveyard. Here are some cards to help that.

Underworld Connections can help refill your hand while emptying your opponents

No worries AwesomeDoofus!
Usually when I see decks that are struggling to get their decks down to 60 cards I always look to the top of the curve. You have three 7CMC spells and two 8CMC spells. While these spells tend to be very powerful in most cases, they are also very difficult to cast outside of have Magus of the Coffers or Crypt Ghast out (which is slim since they are only 2 cards out of a whole deck). If you trim the fat off the top end of the deck you can then reliably go down some number of lands as well. Since you still have numerous five and six drops I would probably stick around 25 lands. -5 lands and -5 spells at the top of the curve means you only have to cut 3 more cards to get to 60! If I simply had to choose the 3 cards to come out I think it would be Tempt with Immortality to keep your opponents off the big creatures you made them discard, Blood Tribute because its a bit expensive for the effect, and Brain in a Jar because I'm not sure you have enough instants/sorceries for it to be efficient. I think you will find that after cutting some top end stuff and lowing the land count, your deck will feel a lot more smooth, less clunky, and efficient.
It looks like not only are you interested in making your opponent discard cards, but you have some synergies here for self discard. These cards also synergize well with that-
Now inevitably your opponents will be very low on cards. To get more reward for them discarding and to punish them for having few cards in hand you can play these-
The Rack ex. opponent has 2 cards in hand, 3-2= take 1 damage. No card in hand, 3-0= take 3 damage
