The Dolly Parton Punchline - Jolene EDH

Commander / EDH Bracket 4 RG (Gruul) Treasure

Just once I'd like to be able to say who my Commander is without someone in earshot starting to sing that damn song.

This deck is surprisingly versatile and can fill a variety of rolls; it can beat down, burn, grind and sometimes even combo, though I've tried to steer clear of infinite combos.

NEW / NOTABLE CARDS:

Generous Plunderer, Goblin Anarchomancer, Spider Manifestation and Cheering Crowd are all ideal Turn 2 plays, for the simple reason that they ramp out Jolene, the Plunder Queen on Turn 3 and can attack the same turn they do so, starting the Treasure Train early!

Adaptive Omnitool is a fantastic Equipment for Artifact-heavy decks. It makes any Cerature into a real threat and can also draw us into more Artifacts.

Edge of Eternities gave us two new Artifact pingers, Biotech Specialist and Weftstalker Ardent. Weftstalker Ardent is a more powerful version of Reckless Fireweaver and Ingenious Artillerist, triggering off Creatures as well as Artifacts, with Warp thrown on for fun. Biotech Specialist doesn't hit all opponents like the other pingers do, but he hits twice as hard and comes with a Lander for some more ramp.

Alchemist's Talent creates Treasures on ETB, doubles our Treasure's mana production and eventually burns our opponents out as we cast spells using Treasures. One of our more powerful tools to be sure.

In a similar vein, Crime Novelist and Goldspan Dragon both double our Treasure's mana. (I've considered also adding Roxanne, Starfall Savant, but haven't yet.)

Depthshaker Titan is our deck's Craterhoof Behemoth, turning our Treasures into 3/3 creatures with trample, haste and melee for one glorious stompy turn.

Knuckles the Echidna may look ridiculous, but he's a stupidly powerful addition to this deck. Everything about him works with this deck; he hits hard and fast, creates Treasures and even provides a possible wincon in the vein of Hellkite Tyrant! As an added bonus, he's even tutorable with Imperial Recruiter.

Tezzeret, Cruel Captain has been a surprise all-star for this deck. If need be, I can easily spit out an Emblem or two, but more often I just -3 him to search for a utility Artifact every turn. Cards he can find include: Basilisk Collar, Shadowspear, Sol Ring, Haywire Mite, Darksteel Citadel, Great Furnace, Tree of Tales and Slagwoods Bridge. Some other tutorable cards I'm considering are Beamtown Beatstick, Diamond Pick-Axe and Tarrian's Soulcleaver.
