Teysa, Combo Queen

Took a good amount of time (and still) foiling out one of my favorite decks to play. Slowly adding in a description for everything, so any feedback or a +1 is greatly appreciated.

  • Banisher Priest - Combo piece. Also good temporay removal, as he's 100% okay to have in the graveyard and combo off once Sun Titan lands. Was formerly Fiend Hunter but this guy is tutorable with Recruiter of the Guard, grand you lose on the permanent exile with stacking Hunter's trigger. Good tradeoff.
  • Blood Artist - An important centerpiece of the deck (which is why we run 4-ish), needed to win for a lot of our combos, and just good all around synergy.
  • Bloodghast - I love this card. Perfect sac fodder & easily recursive - If I weren't so OCD about my fetches (I might add them all later - I think it's "cheap" to add non color fetches) I'd add them all. Usually one of my Buried Alive targets. Also good synergy with the non-token creature dying stuff.
  • Bloodsoaked Champion - This is more or less if Bloodghast and Reassembling Skeleton had a baby.
  • Cruel Celebrant - Blood Artist gang gang.
  • Grand Abolisher - Our masturbatory card, which is more or less counter-fodder, but gives us peace of mind to combo off.
  • Gravecrawler - Another nice recursive card, and the hardest (considering we only have four ways of getting zombies) and easiest (only costs a single black) of bringing him back to the fray.
  • Grim Haruspex - A semi-solid card draw engine. Does well after a board wipe and combos with sac outs and our non-token recursive package (Gravecrawler, Bloodghast, Bloodsoaked Champion, Nether Traitor, Reassembling Skeleton, and to a lesser extent Haunted Dead)
  • Haunted Dead - Comes in with a token (Ashnod's Altar/Nim Deathmantle), helps get Gravecrawler out of the yard, and is self-recurring and a discard outlet need be.
  • Karmic Guide - Revolves around a few combos and is just good to recur necessary pieces.
  • Leonin Relic-Warder - Just like Banisher Priest but instead of using Sun Titan, uses Animate Dead or Necromancy.
  • Mentor of the Meek - Probably the worst of the card advantage pieces, however card advantage nonetheless.
  • Midnight Reaper - More card advantage, and can lead to a lot of card draw if you Gravecrawler around, just like Dark Prophecy you need to be careful about how many times you're drawing.
  • Nether Traitor - Necessary piece. Can combo with a lot of stuff, and is hosted by our "whenever a nontoken creature dies" suite. Sometimes a Buried Alive target.
  • Pawn of Ulamog - Another essential "whenever a nontoken creature dies" piece. Can lead to infinite colorless mana. Creates infinite dorks to swing in for... 0.
  • Pitiless Plunderer - Simply a better Pawn of Ulamog, while it doesn't creature creature fodder, it does
  • Reassembling Skeleton - Necessary piece. Can combo with a lot of stuff, and is hosted by our "whenever a nontoken creature dies" suite. Often a Buried Alive target.
  • Reveillark - Combo and recursion piece.
  • Sadistic Hypnotist - Free sac outlet. If you're able to, he can create a pretty big advantage sacrificing card hands, and sometimes winning the game.
  • Sengir Autocrat - Combo piece with Nim Deathmantle and an mana altar. But if you have Teysa, Orzhov Scion (or even if you don't) can create a lot of triggers for drawing cards, etc.
  • Smothering Abomination - This thing is either one of the best or worst card advantage pieces. in Borat voice This thing is black not.
  • Stoneforge Mystic - 90% of the time gets Skullclamp otherwise we're left with plan B Nim Deathmantle. Again, just card advantage.
  • Sun Titan - I'm pretty sure there's a book out there with what this combos with and how. I think I figure out new things every game.
  • Viscera Seer - Free sac outlet. Cheap. Minimal effect.
  • Zulaport Cutthroat - Blood Artist #4
  • Altar of Dementia -
  • Ashnod's Altar -
  • Blasting Station -
  • Chrome Mox -
  • Gilded Lotus - Slightly expensive, yet necessary ramp.
  • Lotus Petal -
  • Mana Crypt -
  • Mox Diamond -
  • Nim Deathmantle -
  • Orzhov Signet - Pretty necessary ramp.
  • Phyrexian Altar -
  • Skullclamp - One of the greatest card advantage generators out there.
  • Sol Ring - Duh.
  • Talisman of Hierarchy - Pretty necessary ramp. So happy they printed this.

  • Bolas's Citadel -
  • Corpse Connoisseur -
  • Dimir House Guard -
  • Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder - Haven't had much to test this guy out, but is usually a dead card.
  • Elspeth, Sun's Champion -
  • Entomb -
  • Falkenwrath Noble -
  • Fiend Hunter - Original Banisher priest.
  • Marsh Fitter -
  • Mortify -
  • Pious Evangel   -
  • Relentless Dead - When I was using this, really never had the mana to do cool stuff with it.
  • Sanitarium Skeleton -
  • Seal of Cleansing -
  • Skeletal Vampire -
  • Suture Priest -
  • Trading Post -
  • Utter End -
  • Wrath of God/Terminus - I'd run wipes contingent on the meta I play with.
