Green eggs with a side of blackened heart

Commander / EDH* Artifact BG (Golgari) Combo Control

Lilbrudder

Sideboard

This is a Glissa, the Traitor egg/control deck. The basic strategy is pretty simple:

Step 1) Break eggs (Ex. Mishra's Bauble).

Step 2) Blow up opponent's creatures (Ex. Maelstrom Pulse).

Step 3) ???

Step 4) Profit.

Early game this deck combines eggs and spot removal to gain incremental advantage over the rest of the board. It can also sometimes ramp into Tooth and Nail to kill the board with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion as early as turn 3. I tend to only use this combo against stubborn opponents that refuse to concede when the game is out of hand.

Even when the deck gets off to a slow start it can catch up in a number of different ways. My personal favorite involves using Skullclamp on Memnite indefinitely with Glissa, the Traitor and Grave Pact in play.

Mid game the deck shuts down opponents win cons with board wipes and by tutoring up answers to problematic board states.

Late game the deck wins via several combos:

The first combo is Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth + Sensei's Divining Top for infinite mana and card draw.

Rings of Brighthearth also goes infinite with Deserted Temple and Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth .

The other primary combo in the deck is an infinite combo centered around Krark-Clan Ironworks, Nim Deathmantle, and Myr Battlesphere. This is the most common way the deck wins.

All of the combo pieces in this deck have multiple uses and have great standalone value. It is important to note that many cards could easily fit into several categories. I have a number of ways to destroy my own artifacts for some kind of advantage so Glissa has plenty of targets to recur when things die. Lastly, this deck is much more powerful in a multiplayer environment since there are many more opportunities for Glissa's ability to trigger.

Some other fun combos for this deck are:

Prototype Portal + Lotus Bloom =Black Lotus factory

Priest of Yawgmoth + Spine of Ish Sah = destroy 2 permanents a turn.

Salvaging Station and any 0-1 mana egg= Profit

All Is Dust + It That Betrays = I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE! (This includes opponent's commanders)
