Mana Vault on turn one allows you to cast your general turn two. I imagine one of the challenges with this general is his costing 5, as lack of access to another color means your options for ramp are rather limited. By the same token, Charcoal Diamond , Coldsteel Heart , Chrome Mox and the Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth combo are your friends as well.

Nausea is good for you, as it gives you a way to kill off a bunch of little creatures and rebuy their ETB triggers. As Non-Linear points out, Grave Pact is good in your deck. Nausea makes it into a one-sided board wipe.

God-Eternal Bontu seems kind of absurd, with all them creatures you can feed him. With all the sac-ing you're likely to be doing, you might have luck with Harvester of Souls .

I see Demonic Tutor is in your 'Maybeboard.' I feel that this should be in the main deck of any black EDH deck if at all possible. It simply gets whatever you need more efficiently than anything else can.

Qarsi Sadist allows you to drain an opponent for two at each end step, if you have it exploit itself each time and Shirei stays on the board.

Night of Souls' Betrayal is an interesting thought. With a carful build, it could probably bust the deck wide open, as it auto kills each 1/1 and then brings them right back each end step. Pairing it with something like Burglar Rat , Skyscanner , Pilgrim's Eye , Black Cat or other such creatures seems simply rude as ****.

Finally, regarding the lands, I haven't had much luck with Crypt of Agadeem . You might want to replace that, Mortuary Mire and Memorial to Folly with basic lands. I also don't think Ghost Quarter is very good in EDH, unless your meta plays some powerful utility lands like The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale or Glacial Chasm . Ancient Tomb is a better Temple of the False God , but it is a more expensive card.

Blanket of Night + Cabal Stronghold would be a poor man's version of Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth . Something to consider.

Lastly - which I probably should have said firstly as this should be the first thing considered when building a new deck - is your win condition. The sky is the limit with Golgari colors.

You can go total life drain with cards like Exsanguinate + big mana producers like Ashnod's Altar or the Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth combo. You can also focus on creatures doing the draining for you with creatures such as Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Massacre Wurm, or Poison-Tip Archer to deal damage to your opponents for each creature that dies.

You also have the option of combat damage by attacking with, sacrificing, and bringing back key threats to the battlefield. Cards like Wurmcoil Engine, Grave Titan, Mycoloth, Yahenni, Undying Partisan, Avenger of Zendikar, Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, Terastodon, Scourge of Nel Toth, or Sheoldred, Whispering One.

Interesting idea to have Villainous Wealth as you commander!

It seems to me that the ideal plan here is to cast Villainous Wealth as many times as possible with the greatest X possible? I am unsure whether your play group allows infinite combos? If not you could still push this more towards a big mana deck quite effectively. I see you already have High Tide towards this goal.

Some ideas that immediately spring to mind: Mana Reflection, Zendikar Resurgent, Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter , Palinchron, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, Doubling Cube, Kruphix, God of Horizons, Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth .

Hope these are somewhat interesting - there are plenty more options available for creating obscene amounts of mana! Good luck.

I would definitely look to add more ramp to the deck. Your mana rocks are on the low side. Maybe MindStone,Fellwar Stone, Commander's Sphere. Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth

I would be overjoyed if they unbanned primetime, but he is pretty scary and format warping. Grabbing stuff like Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth or Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage or Gaea's Cradle + Deserted Temple can put the game out of reach pretty damn fast edpecially at casual tables.

As for the banning of Leovold, I am indifferent. While he does help keep storm and fast combo decks in check and is fairly balanced in competitive environments, he ruins casual tables. I will add the fear of him probably has encouraged alot of casuals to step up thier removal package, which I feel makes the format better, since pubstomp generals face more resistance than they have ever had to deal with before. It is very Survival of the Fittest esque. The predator makes the prey stronger.
