Iandoto's The Scarab God - Stax / Combo

Commander / EDH* Artifact Competitive Control Mill Stax UB (Dimir)

This deck in it’s current iteration is aimed to be anti-creature. This list can reasonably Flex between casual metas and also sit down with cEDH lists. The nice thing about having The Scarab God as a commander is its ability to dodge commander tax while also using other players creature threats against them (primary use vs casual pods).

The game plan is to hit your land drops / early ramp, to then start dropping stax pieces. You should be utilizing your card draw engines and tutors to sculpt your hand and control the tempo of the game, preventing other players from winning outright, while continuing to work towards one of the many avenues to victory.

Win Cons

There are a few different options to go with here

  1. Dramatic Scepter combo for infinite mana + Torment of Hailfire or Reservoir

  2. Mindcrank / Blood Chief Ascension combo - this is mostly here because both cards synergize so well with the general game plan and can really throw people off when milling away options

  3. Throwing down a huge Exsanguinate / Army of the Damned with some counter spell back up

  4. Aggro beats & life drain with Scarab God / Zombie tokens

  5. Mechanized production on a mana rock or altar of the brood etc.
