This is a FUN deck to pilot. Like holy smokes try out Gonti if you ever get a chance. I like to think of it as a 75% deck...but it really scales to whoever you play against.

The basic idea behind this one is to loop Gonti as many times as possible with sac recursion, and pull fun stuff from your opponent, that engine can stall sometimes but for the most part it runs like a charm. The big mana can be thrown into the more expensive 5-6 mana cards, or as a game ender with Profane Command, Torment of Hailfire, or Exsangunate.

The engine comes largely from sacrifice effects that benefit me, like Morbid Curiosity or Soldevi Adnate or Fleshbag Marauder/Merciless Executioner, creatures with great ETBs like Solemn Simulacrum or Ravenous Chupacabra, creatures to repeat the sac effects like Nether Traitor or Reassembling Skeleton, and ways to recur anything like Hell's Caretaker or Reanimate.

Now, since you don't have to do much besides recur Gonti, the rest of the deck is just built for mono-black funtime effects. There are a few Gonti-likes, a la Praetor's Grasp/Sepulchral Primordial/Dead Man's Chest. I put in my prized copy of Dark Depths from when I first started playing MTG, and a few cards in there like Vampire Hexmage and AEther Snap for a fun alternative Win Condition, because how many times do you get to play Marit Lage?!?

Other fun stuff in there:Misinformation which lets you pick a card out of your opponent's grave to play, Temporal Extortion for the unique mono-black extra turn, Sudden Spoiling to ruin an opponent's day, and the now-more-affordable Damnation.

Notable exclusions include Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, both because I rarely have enough symbols on the board to make them work (most things go to the graveyard and back again), also Hedonist's Trove and Kheru Mind-Eater simply because the colored mana costs made for dead cards, I'd rather have another sac effect and another recursion effect to get more Gonti going on. That said, the deck is a constant back-and-forth, so included in the maybe-board are all of the cards that I liked...just not enough to put in the deck. Maybe you can use them!

I love this deck, and I have a feeling you will too.
