Captain Sisay - Silver Bullet Magazine

Commander / EDH Combo Competitive Control GW (Selesnya) Multiplayer

Gavvin

Sideboard

This was originally based of of Surging Chaos' multiplayer Sisay build. Since its inception, it has undergone many changes and now differs quite a bit from the original list.

Every creature in the deck is an answer to some board state or another. Use either Sisay or one of the many creature tutors to fetch the appropriate one.

This is one of the few decks that I believe can pull off each major deck archetype (Control, Combo, and Aggro) at once and still be a focused, cohesive deck.

The Maybe Board is a bunch of cards that get added and removed at random times to keep my regular opponents from ever knowing what exactly is in my deck.

Notable Combos: Living Plane + Linvala = Opponents can't tap lands for mana

Living Plane + Elesh Norn = Opponents can't have land

Yomiji + Mindslaver + 10 mana = lock one player out of the game

Reveillark + Mistveil Plains + Mindslaver + Sisay + another white permenant + 11 mana = lock one player out of the game

Yomiji + Yosei + Miren the Moaning Well + 9 mana = lock one player out of the game

Reveillark + Karmic Guide + Saffi + Mirror Entity + any creature with an ETB or LTB effect = as many ETB or LTB activations as you choose. Samples: Yosei = Keep all opponents from ever untapping Eternal Witness = Get everything back from the graveyard Acidic Slime = Blow up all opponents' non-creature perms

Updates Add

So, after a couple of years away from the game, I came back and starting updating decks, replacing a couple of cards in each with what had been printed since I was away. As I have been re-familiarizing myself, I have learned that EDH as a whole has changed more in the last 2 years than in the 8 years before when I played. Some of the decks are holding up in the new meta, but others are feeling somewhat dated.

This Sisay deck is one of the ones that is feeling somewhat slow and clunky. I haven't played a LOT of games with it (getting re-acquainted with 20 decks!), but the ones I have played, I have felt somewhat behind the curve of some of the faster combo decks. With that in mind, I am looking to re-work the deck, possibly from the ground up and would welcome advice.

The only restrictions that I place upon myself are:

1) It should still be a toolbox deck, holding off the table until I can combo out.

2) NO Paradox Engine! This is a card I feel should be banned in non cEDH play due to ubiquity and the fact that if it is not answered immediately upon entering play, it is usually game over. No single 5-drop that is easily slotted into many existing decks should be that game-changing.

3) No Eldrazi titans
