This is the second deck of three in my collection of Three Colour Zombie decks (Esper, Grixis and BUG).

As my Grixis deck I am trying to showcase the variety of Red Zombies (For Esper and BUG I've done the same with White and Green respectively - I don't want to have three deck lists with an identical list of "good" zombies.

The deck is a carefule balance of Zombie Tribal, Counters Matter and combos which win the game if unanswered.

Winning moves

Plan A is mikeaus, the unhallowed + Slot A + Slot B or Slot C

Slot A: Cards that do damage, Flayer of the Hatebound, Diregraf Captain, Plague Belcher Slot B: Card that sacrifices creatures, Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, Carrion Feeder, Grimgrin, Corpse-Born etc Slot C: a creature that only has +1/+1 counters for P/T and can remove them for utility, Triskelion, Workhorse and Walking Ballista.

Plan B is Living End the grave with Flayer of the Hatebound in the grave,

Plan C is a very hard to kill zombie army supported by the commander attacking through the red zone.

There are also other incidental combinations such as Diregraf Captain/Plague Belcher + Workhorse + Nim Deathmantle + Ashnod's Altar/Phyrexian Altar.

Or Phyrexian Altar + Gravecrawler + Diregraf Captain/Plague Belcher

Alternative Deck - Unearth Some Fun

This deck is less competitive, but very fun and you get a bit more value out of being a more tribal focused Zombie deck.The cards I would side in to make this deck are in the sideboard. Which cards you replace is up to you. It assumes an almost identical structure, same lands, same basic premise but with Sedris, the Traitor King as commander.

Sideboard cards include the interesting effects of combos such as Quietus Spike + Unscythe, Killer of Kings + Triskelion or Nightfire Giant. The deck already has Flayer of the Hatebound, but Warstorm Surge and Impact Tremors would increase the number of cards with a similar effect for the Unearth ability.
