Plant the seeds of victory, and you'll be rewarded with this deck.

The main mechanics hinge around amassing large numbers of saproling tokens (easy to accomplish with Ghave, Guru of Spores , Tendershoot Dryad , and Utopia Mycon . Having these tokens at your disposal gives you a few options to adapt to your draw and your opponent.

Counters: You can exploit your ability to create saprolings to accumulate +1/+1 counters on your creatures using enchantments like Cathars' Crusade , or creatures such as Kalonian Hydra , Corpsejack Menace , Winding Constrictor , and Juniper Order Ranger . The saprolings themselves can enter the battlefield buffed if you control Sigil Captain .

Shooting from a distance: If you control Walking Ballista , you can load it with counters by either sacrificing saprolings, redistributing counters from Forgotten Ancient , or by using the counter accumulation strategy described above.

Create Heavy-Hitters: Using the devour mechanic, you can cast buffed creatures such as Mycoloth and Bloodspore Thrinax . Or, just sacrifice your puny saprolings to summon Ormendahl, Profane Prince .
