WELCOME TO NEKUSAR'S GAME: ENDURANCE OF THE MIND

You are contestant #1. Let's see how you do, shall we?

WARNING! This is one of those decks that makes your playgroup hate you. Even though you supply extra cards, they always target you for some reason. XD

Why Nekusar?

Going through the decklists of Commander 2013, I was immediately drawn to Mind Seize. It had a very unique feel to it. Oloro's deck was life gain/artifacts, Marath's deck was big creatures, Prossh's deck was sacrifice, Derevi's deck was full of evasion, but Mind Seize?! Jeleva's deck had three different things going on - Jeleva's instants & sorceries, Thraximundar's sacrificing, and Nekusar's card draw for everyone. I took it as a challenge to choose one of those aspects and develop a whole EDH deck off of it. Jeleva seemed really hard to play, if you didn't give her haste, she would be the biggest target on the battlefield. She seemed fun though, so I considered using her for a while. I didn't much like Thraximundar because he seemed too slow, even in EDH. So I stuck with Nekusar, the Mindrazer. Now, I had never even seen this card ever before, so I had to really think about it, but then I realized how much damage you could deal to everyone without needing to assemble many combo pieces. Also, many EDH decks have a bunch of card draw, and Nekusar, the Mindrazer punishes those decks. So here it is, my first EDH deck, enjoy!Memory JarThis deck uses Nekusar, the Mindrazer and Wheel of Fortune type cards to draw and kill your opponents. Feel free suggest any cards that would be beneficial for it.

Minds Aglow - time for politics! Yaaaayyy!! You may be the only one paying for it, but you can also enlist the help of someone else and then pay them back later, or don't... This card really interacts with the players because what one player does affects al players.

Consecrated Sphinx - Who doesn't love drawing at least 6 cards in between your turns, even more when you're wheeling? It gets crazy when paired with Dream Halls.

Dack Fayden - Despite being one of my all time favorite planeswalkers for no reason at all, Dack Fayden actually fits here pretty nicely. His plus one is looting, that's always great. If you need to, you can also target an opponent for dmg, (draw AND discard). His -2 is amazing. Imagine all those Sol Rings you'll control... His ult isn't as relevant, but there still are some targeting abilities like Tamiyo, the Moon Sage's +1, or even Tainted Strike if you really want the creature.

Hive Mind - this chaotic enchantment can really boost your wheels, everyone else is copying their spells too. This turns the whole game into random instants and sorceries whizzing around. Also combos with Doomsday, if you're about to lose, just play this, play a wheel, and everyone loses. Yaaaay!! Only play Hive Mind when you're ready to go off.

Obviously Nekusar, the Mindrazer + Wheel of Fortune effects to slowly drain your opponents. (Works well with Bloodchief Ascension.

Alternate Win Con: Consecrated Sphinx + Laboratory Maniac + wheel of fortune effects - Draw your whole deck to win!

Even more alternate win con: Using Tainted Strike/ Phyresis / Glistening Oil on Nekusar, the Mindrazer before a wheel to make everyone die of infect. Yay!! Glistening Oil

Consecrated Sphinx + Windfall + Reliquary Tower (optional) + Nekusar, the Mindrazer for mass group damage.

Consecrated Sphinx + Laboratory Maniac for mass card draw -> win.

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Consecrated Sphinx

Nekusar, the Mindrazer + any Wheel of Fortune type cards. (I don't have Wheel of Fortune in this deck, it's too expensive.

If you liked this deck, please upvote!

By the way, doesn't Nekusar look kinda like Leoric from WoW?

Ok let's admit it - Kaladesh is fucking amazing. These new cards are so flavorful and some are just straight up broken. For this deck, I decided to include Saheeli Rai, Metallurgic Summonings, and Inventors' Fair.

Saheeli Rai - At a cheap 3 mana, Saheeli is incredibly useful. Her +1 isn't that great, it filters a card and pings your opponents. Meh, I guess. Her -2 starts getting interesting. She can clone an artifact or creature for a turn. Now imagine a Memory Jar. Now imagine a cloned one. Yup, super broken. If you ever get to her ult, yeah, it's good. 3 artifacts onto the field is devastating. font of mythos + howling mine + teferi's puzzlebox has gotta hurt.

Metallurgic Summonings - This evil little enchantment gives us what we lack - a board. Allowing each spell cast to get you a token is not a small thing. Delve a Temporal Trespass and you've already got yourself an 11/11. But what were really going for is its second ability. Being able to retrieve all used/discarded instants and sorceries is very important. It's kinda like elixir of inmortality, but to the hand.

Inventors' Fair - It's an artifact tutor on a land. What's not to love?
