Hey all, this is a deck I've been working on for some time now. The deck went through many stages and archetypes until I finally settled on this. I was originally playing good stuff, then I went to a go-wide strategy with Sharding Sphinx, then quick fling with voltron, and this version of the deck sees the most success. Any of the standout non-budget cards are just a few things I got lucky with in trades, but they're all easily replaceable (bloodstained mire for a rakdos lifeland, etc.)

The deck was originally running a ton of counterspells and tutors, but a bit of a goodstuff subtheme helps a lot with the control matchup, and the deck runs a lot of recursion for a strong attrition game plan if we're not drawing into our combos or tutors.

While this deck can combo off on turn 3 Grand Architect + Pili-Pala , that is almost always magical christmas land, so we're more worried about comboing off on turns 5-8 if we can help it, with a bit of early ramp and some cheap interaction.

Our combos are:Ashnod's Altar + Breya, Etherium Shaper + Eldrazi Displacer . We flicker Breya with E Dis, and sacrifice the two tokens using AA, netting us 1 colorless mana each time we do this. Create a ton of colorless mana, flicker Breya a ton, and then sac all her tokens using her ability for infinite damage or life. This combo is great because anything short of a Krosan Grip can be dodged by flickering Breya in response.

Grand Architect + Pili-Pala . We spend one blue to turn Pili-Pala into a blue artifact creature, and tap her for 2 colorless mana. We use the two colorless mana to use the untap ability of Pala, creating 1 colored mana. We make infinite of each color of Breya to cast her and sacrifice herself with her ability for infinite damage or life, going above the commander tax with our colored mana. This combo is great, because Breya can be in the command zone when this combo starts, and we can produce colored mana for any of our counterspells or other interaction spells for protecting this combo.

Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry . This combo is the final combo and it does not require Breya to work. The combo is super cheap and rather unassuming at first. We have both on board, and sacrifice Sword to TF, netting us a single 1/1 and 1 life. Once Sword hits the yard, it comes back to the battlefield attached to our thopter. We pump as much mana as we want into this, ideally at the opponent's endstep in order to hold up mana for answers or bluffing. This combo goes infinite with Ashnod's Altar, so if we can turtle out a game with an opponent's Ghostly Prison or the like, this helps for the intimidation factor.

Important Synergies and Notes:

Trinket Mage can look for our artifact lands for when we need color fixing, but we usually want to grab Skullclamp or Sol Ring.

Goblin Welder can create tons of value for us if left unchecked, and I have no problem tutoring for our Ichor Wellspring for maximum value. Using Breya as the other sac/etb fodder can be risky, but reaps us huge dividends.

We replaced Open the Vaults in favor of Roar of Reclamation . The 1 cmc is usually negligible, but now we won't accidentally give our opponents enchantments.

Whir of Invention for Nevinyrral's Disk on an opponent's endstep is a fantastic play for us.

Darksteel Forge + Nevinyrral's Disk is game ending, and if we can't combo off, is our next best thing.

Faerie Artisans looks out of place, but it's specific to my meta. I would trade it out for another sweeper or Phyrexian Metamorph if it wasn't such strong tech against the Roon ETB deck in my meta.
