Lazav heads a UB control list that can win through fast infect kills, accruing advantage over a long game, or by performing a Laboratory Maniac combo.

INFECT KILLS

Lazav's ability to change between multiple creature instantaneously allows us to perform poison kills very easily. These are normally aided with Buried Alive. Just have him turn into Gingerbrute or Invisible Stalker, attack, have no blocks declared, turn him into Vector Asp, give him poison, and have him turn into Phyrexian Dreadnought. 12 points of poison for somewhere between 3 and 5 mana. The best part is that you can still use Lazav in response to interaction, so even if someone tries to kill him, you can easily have him turn back into insivible stalker.

ACCRUING VALUE

Between Wavebreak Hippocamp, Dark Confidant, Loyal Drake, and Sygg, River Cutthroat, it becomes very easy to have Lazav draw you multiple cards each turn. If you get to this point in the game, Training Grounds becomes your best friend, allowing you to transform much more often and get more value.

Most of the time, however, the deck benefits the most from having Laav be Baral, Chief of Compliance. Being able to interact for less mana makes this deck much more able to disrupt its opponents until it can perform one of its two kills.

LAB MAN COMBO

Unlike many decks these days, Lazav chooses to run Lab Man over Thassa's Oracle, mostly so that Lazav can turn into an uncounterable Lab Man. I tend to recommend that you try to Lab Man combo only if you have multiple instant speed draw effects or have an Invisible Stalker in your graveyard to protect Lazav and enough mana to turn him back to Lab Man. Oddly, the storm-like cards in this deck tend to be the main part that allows this deck to perform its Lab Man turns.
