Maybeboard

This was the first deck I built of my 32, and by far my most tuned deck. It was intended to be an ~75% deck but it's currently playing at an ~85% level. The deck wins off polymorph with either an unblockable Darksteel Colossus, or tons of drakes after a Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur.

It focuses heavily on card draw and the optimal counterspells for the early game, turn four or five talrand comes out and it creates a few drakes (Gitaxian Probe and Snap help), polymorphing them the next turn with either Polymorph, Reweave, or Proteus Staff, in late game you swing with unblockable infect damage (Slip Through Space or Shadow Rift, take extra turns, and generally try to to stay one step ahead of your most threatening opponents in card advantage and tempo.

You will want to have some mana open when Talrand, Sky Summoner hits the field in order to actually get the value he provides in drakes. I've found that by strategically choosing my counterspell targets in the early game, his removal seems to actually not be an issue if I have the instant effects ready to go. Swinging wide with the drakes is more of a backup plan than anything else. A few of the cards are simply in here to provide some faster ramping, whether that's the efficient Extraplanar Lens or High Tide or the "I chose it over Sol Ring because I need it to produce blue mana" Eye of Ramos.

I've had excellent success in duel commander, and mixed in multiplayer. However, it requires intelligent piloting. You don't have enough control to hold the board forever, so be choice in your targeting or you will be the first to die. If you play it like you're everyone's friendly neighborhood "nope" police, you can actually do quite nicely.

That said, I'm curious if it wouldn't do better as a Baral, Chief of Compliance deck? Weigh in below with your thoughts and opinions.
