The idea of the deck is to get creature cards in your graveyard by sacrificing them or by self-mill. You can then use Varolz's ability to scavenge and put a bunch of +1/+1 counters on your creatures, abusing creatures like Death's Shadow to put 13 counters on any creature for only one black mana. Putting counters on hard to kill creatures such as Thrun, the Last Troll makes the deck sturdier against removal and board wipes. Below I have listed the main groups of cards in the deck. You usually want at least one from each category.
