The goal of this deck is to aggressively use your own life total to filter through the deck to find cards that will draw or tutor the deck, prevent us from losing the game, or give us the ability to trade life totals with another player.

Cards such as Necropotence, Black Market Connections, and Bolas's Citadelfoil all use our life points to gain card advantage. Several tutors unconditional tutors are also included to find utility in key points of the game.

Several cards in the deck have the ability to prevent us from losing the game, this is an important piece of the strategy of this deck. By nuking our own life total, we are often at risk for losing the game at mercy of a stiff breeze. In order to offset our frequent vulnerability, we have included effects such as Platinum Angel, Lich's Mastery, and Cloudsteel Kirin. Additionally, a combo of The Book of Exalted Deeds and Faceless Haven, along side our Snow-Covered Plains and Snow-Covered Swamp. This will prevent us from losing the game unless a player can destroy a land.

The final component to this deck is the ability to swap life totals with another player. This is our main win condition while at 0 life or below. Soul Conduit, Profane Transfusion, and Magus of the Mirror are the main ways we can do this.

If we are ever able to reduce our life total to exactly 1, we can use an alternate win-condition of Near-Death Experience.
